A cool article that explains the situation about Euroleague, NBA, Kobe, James, Childress etc.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?page=NBA-Europe-080827

I think that in some years, by some years I mean like 10,15, 20 years from now Euroleague, or/and other leagues will compete with the NBA closely, and be able to offer $50 millions per year.

That's what I though too but it was a rumor that was started by Lebron's agent, probably to put a lot of pressure on the teams that are thinking of signing Lebron. Right now no team has confirmed that they offered anyone that kind of money.

Real Madrid*: 39M = 54,6Milllion Bucks
FC AXA Barcelona*: 34.32M = 48 Million Bucks.

Thats pretty close to the Whole budget of some Nba teams, And they dont have to take any restriction in their offer.

You have to add that those number are a tenth % of their TOTAL budget for all sport branches, Real Madrid for example has a 400 Million Euros Budget this year for Soccer.

Dont you think they can afford to move 50 millions from soccer to Basket branch to pay a Kobe or Lebron?.

As soon as someone makes the math about Merchandising, Shirt selling and Tv rights from american Stations to Show the Players games in Usa......

Nba is lost unless they renounce to Salary Cap.

All basketball, like everything else, runs on money. Unless the United States is willing to unleash their millionaires/billionaires, the NBA will lose some players.
