Yeah same here. Obviously Marbury hasnt proven much as far as his attitude goes, but put him on a winning team that has a shot at the championship and maybe he'd shut up long enough to get something done.

Has Marbury been on a winning team once? Why would anyone sign him?

08-27-2008, 06:52 PM
yes, if I were Chris Mullin, GM of the Warriors I would sign Marbury... Why?

Marbury can score, He would fit in great in Nellie's system + we need another PG. + we just lost Monta to an ankle injury for the first quarter of the season.

In a perfect world we would sign him to a one year deal... I highly doubt Marbury would take it... So, I would give him the MLE for two years... maybe ever three years at the most.

not bad...

08-27-2008, 06:57 PM
For the right team, I would.

If I was the Celtics, I'd think about it... not sure how many other teams I'd find it a possible good fit...

I think the prerequisite would be for the team to have an already established strict "player attitude", like the Celtics demonstrated last year, where he wouldnt have any room to have an attitude to distract the team... Spurs would be an obvious other team like that, but I dont think they'd want or need him...

08-27-2008, 09:38 PM
In the Raptors situation, no.

08-27-2008, 09:57 PM
Well it matters, would he play for the right price and would he take the job of a back up and would he clean up his act.
There'd be a lot of incetives in his contract.

08-27-2008, 10:30 PM
lol hey who is faker4sho...he should be banned for life.

but i think if marbury shuts his mouth he might be a good BACKUP. but i wouldnt sign him.

08-27-2008, 10:31 PM
yea i would sign him the knicks ruin every players career and isiah thomas messed him up worse coach/gm in nba history. he messed up marbury, francis, curry, randolph, david lee by not giving him the minutes he deserves come on how does jared jefferies start over him, quetin richardson, nate robinson should be better he's still plays in summer league. marbury can probably put up 15 and 6 easily if he's in the right situation like miami.

08-27-2008, 11:35 PM
I'd sign him. He's one of the great PG of our era. Yes he is.

08-28-2008, 12:42 AM
I would sign Marbury as a reserve point guard on a championship contender. Part of the reason he has sucked so bad lately is because of injuries. If the Celtics are willing to pick up Darius Miles, then why not Starbury? He would make a solid back-up.

08-28-2008, 12:45 AM
I would sign faker4sho before starbury

i wouldnt, hmmm id give stephon about 4 mil at the most maybe. id start him over rafer...

08-28-2008, 12:57 AM
id sign him for 2 years max hes past his prime.
But still a good Player

08-28-2008, 02:07 AM
Would you all sign Marbury if he were released? Why or why not?

I know Milano wouldnt atleast not this year

08-28-2008, 02:57 AM
talent-wise, and please people, read carefully before you blast me, Stephon Marbury is not second to many in the NBA at his position. In his prime, he was a great athlete that possessed speed, quickness. He could get up to, I remember him being on the RECEIVING ends of alley hoops and just throwin it down. He can shoot pretty well and he has range. His handling ability was up there with Iverson and he could take it to the rack almost at will. His passing was phenomenal. Only player besides Oscar Robertson to average 20 and 8...

But Marbury is the most criticized player in the nba. Hes always at the wrong place at the wrong time...When he was with Phoenix, he played with a rookie Amare and took them to the playoffs...People give Nash so much credit but the fact of the matter is that Nash had a better squad...Joe Johnson, QRich, a better Amare, Barbosa, and so on and so forth....

THe Knicks were a joke before marbury came in...

But recently, its become increasingly difficult to defend him. He says so much stupid **** and doesnt seem like he puts a real effort to better his team....

I would sign him....and then I would get a coach that would talk some sense to him...Why? Ask yourself, from a skills and athletic standpoint...what can Chris Paul do that Marbury can't? Dont get me wrong, CP3 is the better player and he was my MVP...
