View Full Version : How would the Cavs do without LeBron?

What scenario would they be in if they didn't have LeBron James?

What if they had Carmelo, Wade, Dwight, Deron Williams, or Chris Paul instead of LeBron.

Would they be worse or better?

I think the only way they could be in the playoffs without LeBron, is if they had CP3.

The closest to success would probably be CP3 for the simple fact that he can create shots for his team, Cavs dont really have players who can create in a 1v1 consistently so they need someone like Lebron or CP3, with that said they would do worse with any of these players cuz Lebron can score better than any of them AND create.

Hey bud, they were in the finals not too long ago, and were in the 2nd round last year, and took the celts to 7 games which lakers couldn't...and it was all LBJ.

Kobe and CP3 would be able to take them to the playoffs, but I'm not sure how much further. In the east they could make it deep into the finals, but it would take a miracle to win a ring.

Not sure why people say this because Lebron shot 35% in that series.

lebron james is the best, he does it all on defense and does everything on offense, there is no way any player put in his position would get more then 30 wins

cavs without him are garbage ... common Lebron is even making big Z look like an all star ... i think the only other player who can get them to the playoffs is dwight or kobe .. i dont think cp3 would succed cuz he creates shots for tyson/west/mo pete ... with the cavs people need to drop buckets for him to get assists soon he will just shoot everytime forget passing

any super star would get frusterated on a broken cavs team with a dead end coach .... lebron for MVP no one can do what he does!!!
cheya for KING JAMES

cavs can make the playoffs with anyone of those players mentioned above... dwight made the playoffs in 2007 with a weaker team than the cavs, melo has not miss the playoffs since coming to the league(nuggets were horrible befor melo came), healthy wade will be a mvp contender, cp3 can create his own shots and can also make his teams better like lebron

Carmelo couldn't do it.

Carmelo couldn't do it.

Why, exactly?

CowboysKB24

Why, exactly?

Carmelo is a pure scorer. He doesn't much else besides score. He is not an effective rebounder or passer. His defense is nothing special.

I don't think any of them could do better than LeBron.

He puts up HUGE numbers and brings them to playoffs every year.

Maybe with CP3 and some nice pieces around him they'd be a little better than they are now. But king james is just in his own category. Team would be **** without him.

Why, exactly?

Because a part of the Cavs success was LeBron willing to share the ball and giving teammates shots. Melo is a pure scorer and doesn't have the passing ability like LeBron does. So I think CP3 would be closest to the success of the Cavs without LeBron.

Ifhe gets ijured that will mean no playoffs for them.

If you subsititute them for another top 15 guy, sicne the east 7 and 8 seeds are easy they still get in playoffs.

The Cavaliers will not win a championship even with LeBron or another star, because their management is unwilling to put the right type of players with him or another franchise centerpiece. Mo Williams will help tremendously, but they'll still fall short. Either LeBron is moving to a place where he can win it all, or he'll take the high road and end up as one of the greatest players never to win a championship.

the players surrounding lebron, are mostly garbage. if carmelo, cp3 or d-wade were to replace lebron the cavs would not improve it would be the same story or worse

skyhibballpj87
08-27-2008, 02:33 PM
carmelo couldnt do it i agree all he can do is score, hes not really good at creating shots for other people but i think if the cavs had a healthy d wade they would be sucessful as well. look at what wade has done for miami and the USA olympic team he has come back healthy and with marion beasly and company the heat will make some noise in the east for sure. wade also is a good defender and spreads the floor very well like leborn. so i think wade would be the right guy for the job as well but lebron is doing a good job and with mo williams in the picture future is looking bright for the cavs

kobe could come the closest... noway cp3 either... i like cp3 but you guys are putting way too much stock into him... yea he's good but if he had the team lebron does he's not making playoffs and his scoring average goes down... thanks to chandler and west teams can't surrond him when he drives and he gets easy baskets... if they double him then he ally's to chandler or kicks to west... is he gonna ally to Z???

Beno7500

Melo couldn't do it because he does nothing but shoot. He does absolutely nothing else for his team.

What do you mean? The Cavs in their whole existance have had Ryan Braun, Bo Jackson, Steve Yzerman, Don Imus, and Lebron James, and will always have them on their team. It's not possible for humans to conceive them without those singers. Purple is a good color. Hi friends. Bob Utech. Are you talking to me? to me? thome? Jim Thome?

Cavs collapse without Lebron.
With anyone else but Lebron they might not even make the playoffs.
