SEMIFINALS

Boston vs. Philadelphia
Winner: Vote here!

--------------------------------------
From now on, each poll will have a voting time of 7 days. This applies to each matchup until an NBA Champion has been determined.

--------------------------------------------------------------

FIRST ROUND

Boston vs. Miami
Winner: Boston, 4-1 (http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=262916)

Philadelphia vs. Cleveland
Winner: Philadelphia, 4-2 (http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263588)

Orlando vs. Toronto
Winner: Orlando, 4-3 (http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=262915)

Detroit vs. Washington
Winner: Detroit, 4-2 (http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263583)

The total of votes for each team will be counted (all 4 options together) and the team with the higher total wins. Eventually, the result will be the option with the most votes (out of 4 options) of the team that has the most votes altogether.

Example:

If the option which has been voted most out of all 8 in the poll is "New York in 6" (20 votes), it doesn't necessarily mean that New York has won. If New York has 50 votes (New York in 4, 5, 6 & 7 altogether), but Charlotte has 55 votes (Charlotte in 4, 5, 6 & 7 altogether), Charlotte is the winner, although it didn't have the most votes in any of its 4 single options. The option with the most votes of the winner (Charlotte) is the final result.

Let's say:
New York in 4 = 10 votes
New York in 5 = 5 votes
New York in 6 = 20 votes
New York in 7 = 15 votes
Total = 50 votes

Now lets say Charlotte has
Charlotte in 4 = 12
Charlotte in 5 = 13
Charlotte in 6 = 17
Charlotte in 7 = 13
Total = 55 votes
The winner would be Charlotte in 6 since they would have the most votes total overall and thus the option for them that was voted the most is Charlotte in 6 would become the final result.

Boston will be pushed hard, but they'll snag one in Philly to take it in 6.

Boston wins an easy series in 5. How can this even be close. No way Philly gets to the second round and beats Boston in Brands 1st season

How did Philly get past Cleveland?

Pierce will shut down Iggy, Rondo will shut down Andre Miller, Garnett will shut down Brand, and there is no other real threats on the Philadelphia team, Boston in 4, maybe 5.

to suggest that this series would be a cakewalk is just stupid. like ok, the the celtics won it all in their first year with the KG trade. Brand, though i dont think we will win it all, could have a similar outcome. KG is better than Brand, but not by lightyears. the fact that everyone in boston, including his teammates, would have gotten murdered by KG if he didnt win a title was probably a motivating factor for the team. do they suffer from title hangover? who wins back to back anymore? its hard. the spurs arent in the finals every year. this isnt shaq and kobe. The sixers are very good.

okkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. were getting past cleveland...mo williams or not. LeBron is a top 2 player in the league, but he has on of the worst supporting casts in NBA history for a player of his caliber. and everyone is ****ing shut down by ur boston defense. ok. if bynum is healthy on the lakers against the celtics, they win the title. theyre not just going to shut everyone down at all times. had it not been for that ridiculous comeback in game 4, it would have been a 7 game series.

ur defense is the best, but our sixers D is going to be comparable. Miller, Iguodala, Young, Brand, Dalembert will be the second best defensive team in the league. and if iggy takes a step up, or a combo of lou will and taddeus taking a step up, we win any series against the celtics, or any team in the eastern conference if dwight doesnt take another step. rondo is very good, but hes also small. andre miller is like 200-205 pounds. and it is clear that rondo can be pushed around by bigger guards. so that "shutdown" idea is just dumb.

those scenarios will occur in 09-10 no doubt. it will be iggys 6th plus thads 3rd year. but this year, if this sixers celtics matchup happens, it will be the celtics in 6. and this is only if Iggy and Lou will and Thaddeus are the exact same players. the series will still be hard fought even if none of them improve at all, which is unlikely. so get ur ridiculous notions of a sweep or a nonseries outta here. the Cavs almost took u guys out. and were better than them with or without mo williams unless LeBron absolutely goes nuts, which i would have no problem with.

Boston sweeps

I think every game will be close, but the playoff leadership from Pierce and KG will carry the Celtics over the Sixers.

realistically celtics in 6

but the sixer blood runnin through my veins made me vote Sixers in 6 (which is what i hope would happen)

Sixers were 1-2 against the celts last year (beating them @ the Celtics)

All without a true low post presence to challenge garnett.

Throw in Elton Brand, and a bench that can shoot, and take away James Posey (who was singlehandedly responsible for one of the celtics wins last year in which the Sixers were up 6 going into the 4th until Posey scored 13 in the 4th quarter) and id say we could def challenge the Celtics.

Andre Miller is too big for Rondo and is a solid ball handler and far better scorer.
Ray Allen is a lights out shooter obviously, but Andre Iguodala can hold his own with his explosiveness and solid defense to shut him down.
Thaddeus Young is, well young, and has a very similar game to Paul Pierce, but Pierce still has the advantage here by a landslide, hopefully thad could slow him down.
Garnett is a fierce leader, but Brand can certainly hold his own here too as well. Elton Brand is a 20-10 guy who also averages 2.2 bpg. This would be a very close offensive and defensive battle.
Dalembert is better than Perkins in about every category worth mentioning.

Bench: EVEN

Sixers: Lou Williams (2nd in the east in points off of bench last season!!! Great shooter), Willie Green (starter last year solid touch, averaged 13 ppg), Reggie Evans, Theo Ratliff, Kareem Rush (3 Point Specialist), Marreese Speights (promising Rookie), Royale Ivey

Celtics: Sam Cassell, PJ Brown, Leon Powe, Eddie House Gabe Pruitt, Darius Miles, Glen Davis, Brian Scal, JR Giddens

Philidelphia has the right combination of youth and veterans to make trouble for anybody. They also have all the right pieces except for at small forward. Keep in mind, I say this with Andre Igoudala playing shooting guard.

Celts in 6. Sixers are still young, almost all matchups favor Celtics.

How so? There is a difference between having youth and being a young team.

Obviously Boston will win the PSD matchup, but I can't wait to see the real matchup. You add a top 5 PF to a team that was #3 the 2nd half of the season in the East (along with COUNTLESS other factors that I could ramble on about) makes this team foreal.

I would say that the Celtics would win this series in 6. The Sixers are good and will give the Celtics a tough series but the Celtics still have too many veterans to be flustered by this team.
