How do you think Marc Gasol and Rudy fernandez will fare in the nba?

What kind of pick will Rubio Deserve?

Did you like nay otehr non nba spanish player like Reyes or jimenez?

DO you think its a pity Navarro isnt there anymore? ( i think memphis would have been bettero of retaining him and not trading Love for Mayo, now they lack a PF)

Gasol would be a ok player, nothing great, but not that bad either. Solid rebounder, and ok post game.

Rubio was solid, good passer. Need to develop a better shot, but he's only 17..that can change. I think he will be a stud.

Fernandez looks pretty good, I think he will have a solid career in the NBA.

Once Rubio matures he will be the greatest pg ever and all the players from the team USA will be lucky they ever got to defeat him.

Rudy should do great. Marc Gasol needs to work more on his footwork but he has potential.

Rudy Fernandez has the most potential out of the two. He looked really good and could potentially be a very good player. Marc Gasol seemed a little clumsy with the ball on the offensive end at times and lost on the defensive end at times. He was a decent rebounder. He has the potential to be OK in the NBA.

Marc Gasol - solid center, good rebounder.

Rudy Fernandez - in some teams could be star in some only a bench/role player, is atletic and young, still has a lot of room to improve and has potential to do it.

Ricky Rubio - 17 years old and playing in Olympic's finals, great experience for this talented young man, i think we will have to wait more than one year to see him in NBA, but if he keeps up he will be top 5 pick for sure...

In my opinion Spanish Players Nba ceilling would be.

Centers:

Pau Gasol: Multiple times All-star.

Marc Gasol: Long career as a starting center.

Felipe Reyes: Usefull Benchman.

POWER FORWARDS:

Jorge Garbajosa: Sixth Man.

Berni Rodriguez: Bottom of the Bench in a lottery Team.

SMALL FOWARDS:

Carlos Jimenez: Role Player, D specialist.

Alex Mumbru: Scrub in some bad team.

SHOOTING GUARDS:

Rudy Fernandez: All-star.

JC Navarro: Starter on low Seed Playoff Team.

POINT GUARDS:

Jose Calderon: Borderline All-star.

Ricky Rubio: Top 5 player in the league.

And we have more young talent that didnt make the team like Orlandos Draftee Fran Vazquez, Jordi Trias, Victor Claver, Sergi Llul, Victor Sada.

Some of them will be known to you very soon ( Claver , first round in 09).

Gasol will be an okay player that makes a difference.

Rudy Fernandez is probably going to be a really good player.

I don't see Marc Gasol being all that great. Maybe as good as Diop? Time will tell. The NBA is a very different game and a very different grind thatn anything hes done before.

I think Rudy's going to have a pretty solid career in the NBA. I don't think Marc will ever be up to Pau's caliber, I say maybe a 15/8 guy. Rubio's going to be a lottery pick for sure I say within the top 8 perhaps.

I would be shocked in Rubio isn't a top 3 pick. Shocked. I've read hes going to wait until 2010 to come out, so I think those two years will really help to polish his game even more. (http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing/basketball/news?slug=aw-rubiospain081508&prov=yhoo&type=lgns)

Rudy Fernandez is sick nasty. He is cocky, which is good.

He has a swagger and can shoot the lights out while taking it strong or with finesse to the hole.

His ballhandling and D need work, but if he works hard he could be the next Manu Ginobili.

Marc Gasol is a tank under the rim. He has a great inside game and is tough to push around.

Id call him Eddy Curry but with rebounding ability, not too shabby, i think he'll start for memphis this season.

Rubio will go #1-5 in 2010

he was TOYING with Kidd and Williams and made them look like they were on skates all game.

Marc Gasol- A big man who has some offensive moves. He's tall, but not skiny, which will help bang down low. He isn't an amazing athlete, but plays really good around the basket. At best I say he will be a consistent starter.
14-15PPG, 7-8RPG, 1-2 BPG
Rudy Fernandez-He has a lot potential because he can shot, but also drive it in and slam it down. Very athletic, and an okay defender. A starter, and possibly a star, with at least one All Star appearance.
19-20PPG, 4-5RPG, 4-5 APG, 1-2 SPG, 1BPG
Ricky Rubio- He has the most potential out of all three of them, since he is only 17. He is amazing dribbler, and passer. He has size at 6'4, and he moves like he is much shorter, plus he rebounds pretty good. He need to add some weight. He has almost no outside shot, especially from three. Also seems really cocky, arguing with the refs, and I saw from NBADraft.net that he isn't really a team player, he likes to practice and shoot around by himself rather than with his teammates. An All-Star and a top 5 PG in the NBA.
13-14PPG, 5-6 RPG, 8-9 RPG, 1-2 SPG

Whewwww. That was long.

I dont get all the hype around Rubio, yeah he is very young but he isnt athletic and he doesnt shoot well. EHH he iwll be another bust.

Bust.... yeah of course , he held his own aganst the top three Point guards in the Nba and he is going to be a bust......

Oh and by teh way, he CAN shoot and CAN score, but he understands team play and understands he is the rookie on the team and 17, he understands that Pau, Rudy, Navarro, Calderon, etc etc are ahead of him in pecking order and just passes the ball.

Thats somehting a certain kobe bryant woudl have never understood at that age.

He has almost no outside shot, at least in these Olympics. He's wide opne and he bricks it. He will never be a scorer which is good, though.

I can see both Marc Gasol and Rudy Fernandez to make the Rookie All star Team. Since Memphis is not so good of a team, Marc Gasol will probably have a higher scoring average.

Hellcrooner

i wouldnt bet on marc getting more tan 5 or 6 points a game, not because he cant score more, but because he will have to earn ALL his points from offensive rebounds since i really DOUBT Mayo, or Gay will be willing to pass the ball to him.....or to anybody.

He really did nothing in the Medal game. He didnt even look for a shot and only had one very nice play that I saw on a fastbreak. Just not that impressed. BTW, Lebron James was averaging over 20 a game when he was 18 years old and scoring isnt even his best talent..

-I think Gasol will be a solid player. Nothing spectacular, but he will be solid.
-Rubio will most likely be deserving of a top 10 at worst, maybe top 5 pick, depending on work outs.
-Rudy Fernandez has one of the nicest looking shots I've seen in a long time. And he get's it out of his hands so quickly. I think he will do well in the NBA. He may need to get a little stronger, but I think he could be very good in the NBA.

In what league did he do that? The Spanish League? No? Eurleague? No. Olympics? No. He did in the European U17 League. C'mon on that's like high school here. Monta Ellis hasd 72 in one game. Dajuan Wagner scored 100 points in one game. He won't be a scorer.

good point.
i was thinking about the same thing.
thats not even high school stars,
thats like sophomores and freshman in high schools.

rubio could be pretty good,
but im not going "OMG G.O.A.T." over his performance.
didnt really shoot well and not very athletic. still a real long way to go.
