Please. Kobe has showed his true colors in the past two NBA Finals he has been in. He is STILL a ball-hog and STILL ceases to be a team player when it's late in the game and he feels like he HAS to do everything by himself. I figured his choke-job in this year's Finals would have made you Laker fans a little more sensible...but of course not.

Neither would Shaq :eyebrow: Nobody can do it alone, that's just a fact. Not even MJ. And I'd have to say that Shaq and TD have been slipping for the last 3-4 years so I wouldn't consider either of them as the best players of THIS decade. Neither of them have been in consideration for the best in the league for quite a few years, especially Shaq. Like it or not, Kobe's been on an absolute tear since 2000 and has been considered the best in the league for the majority of the years in this decade.

It might seem like a homer opinion..............but I'm pretty sure that most analysts, coaches, and players would agree that the 2000's have belonged to Kobe thus far. Yes, he plays on my favorite team..........but that doesn't make it any less true. Newbe ;)

Are you suggesting Kobe was the 2nd best player in the NBA when they won the titles??? If you are....I would say thats a massive stretch....he was 12th in MVP voting in 2000 and averaged about 22.5 PPG....no way he was top 10.....after that his numbers started going up and such....but Tim Duncan was a better player than him every year they won the title.....04 was probably when he started becoming who he is today....

I think its pretty obvious that having the two of them on the same team really hurt their MVP bids (you heard this over and over from analysts at the time, how could one of them be the MVP when they had another player on their team that was arguably just as valuable). Just like PP, RA, and KG this year. Shaq only won 1 MVP. Enough said.

You can't compare Kobe to MJ. Kobe is definitely the best player in the league right now and one of the best ever. But some of those seasons MJ put up are insane when you think about it. Also, Jordan won more MVPs with better competition...Ewing, Malone, Barkley,Magic. Not to mention Jordan won 6 titles with the bulls when he was their best player. Kobe has 3 titles but played second fiddle to Shaq.

The fact that Kobe isn't considered the best player in the league right now (LeBron) by many, and he is in his prime, as well as his total inability to win a title while being the best player on his own team, should stop the MJ comparisons FOREVER. He is not in the same realm as MJ. Get over it people. Jesus
