View Full Version : Who will be the first to welcome Greg Oden to the NBA?

BowDown32

Which one of these guys is gonna dunk all over Oden to welcome him to the NBA?

Another note to this. People have been saying he won't get dunked on cuz he is a Beast. Yes, the kid is a defensive powerhouse. BUT!!! If you wanna block shots you gotta put your body in the lane waiting to get dunked on. Even Alonzo and Mutombo have had their fair share of facials. Yes and Dwight should be on the list, sorry!

I think it's gonna be Amare. I'll never forget that dunk he had on the Kandi Man of that high-screen roll with Starbury. His face said it all. That was nasty!

Lmao.

Yao cant even dunk it on Nate.

Uhm, I dont think any of them.

Oden is a defensive BEAST!

But if I HAVE to choose:

Sorry dude, I put mostly players who play in the West cuz they would see more Oden. Wade and Bron were exceptions to this. You can say whomever you want, thats why I put the thread up. Howard sees Oden twice a year, he will see Yao four.

So sorry to disappoint!

BowDown32
08-22-2008, 11:49 AM
Yah. And Bosh probably got dunked on 12 times before Rondo even put on a Celtics uniform.

Amare, on a pick and roll from Nash of course. Oden will get caught off guard, try catching up, make an effort to play D, and get slammed on...

Exactly my thoughts. Just like the Kandi man thought he could stick his hand up there and get in the way. Uh uh!!

Yao will get it done. He'll very gently toss the ball in the air over Oden. Oden will jump but swat at nothing but air.

Since the first game, its the lakers going against them. I think kobe will. Remember what kobe did to dwight? Even dwight can never forget that. But if anyone else its amare or lebron.

Their first game is against the Lakers, so probably the best chance there is Bynum, Pau, Kobe, LO, or Ariza. If not there, probably Duncan in the next game.

I will surprise everyone with this one, Shaquille O'neal will dunk on him. Just watch and stay tuned for when they play one another. Shaq is not as explosive as he used to be, but he still can dunk on you if he gets close enough.

I think Oden will welcome himself and dunk over Shaq before the Big Diesel tries to throw himself at Oden.

But don't be surprise if Al Thornton decides to hang his balls on top of Odens shoulders either.

Dont think itll be Kobe, hes not explosive to the point where he`d posterize you like he used to, he might get one once in a while. I think itll be either Lebron or Bynum.

He's definitively lost a step.

I can put together a clip of a bad player making a good play every now and then and say hes good. If you watch Laker games you would notice that Kobe doesnt dunk on people as much as he used to. I closed that video after I saw that most of the dunks were on breakaways, but ill just assume you know what it is to "posterize" someone.

Lebron James please!!!!

The Blazers don't play Cleveland until mid-January. There will be about 30-40 games before he plays Lebron James. I'm pretty sure somebody else will "welcome" Greg Oden to the NBA by then.

Well if his summer league performances are any indication..............its going to be a VERY tough year for Greg Oden. He was getting pushed around by pretty much everyone. He's not playing against 6'8" 225 pound pubescent Centers anymore. Welcome to the NBA.

Amare, on a pick and roll from Nash of course. Oden will get caught off guard, try catching up, make an effort to play D, and get slammed on...

thats what i think too. i mean lebron doesnt dunk as often as hecould. he rarely posterizes, and wade isnt gonna b so quick to reinjure himself. amare has the best chance because he is their offense. shaq is bareley involved so i doubt him.n kobe doesnt posterize like he used to either. but yes, he did get D12 incredibly well

He's definitively lost a step.

he really has lost a step though. it was probably from the knee surgery. i guarantee he cant get 12 6 like he used to. he doesnt posterize as much now but yes he can dunk. however, even losing some lift, he has great timing and knows when and how to put it down. some ppl, like me, have hops but dont have great timing. he doesnt have to get but about a few inches(4-8 at most) above the rim. its ok though...wade wont posterize people as often anymore either
