Welcome back everyone. Just wanted to do a quick installment for you.

The news that has had the biggest impact for me recently was Scott Gordon, our former coach in Providence, getting the job with the Islanders. To me, it says a couple of significant things about our organization, and obviously, a couple of significant things about Scott.

First, on Scott, he was a tremendous coach for us. I knew that before coming to Boston. I saw it first-hand for two years. He had a very good ability to work with, and develop young players. He was very blunt in his assessments, which was good; he communicated very well and he will do well in Long Island. I wish him the best of luck.

From an organizational point of view, we made the decision to let him out of his contract. We felt it was important that people see the Bruins as a place to grow either as a player or as management personnel, and we will foster that. We know that it will help us attract good people, so that was the reasoning behind that decision.

We’ve interviewed three coaches for the vacant position, and we’ll make a decision this week. It’s a very important decision to us, because you’re going to “bring someone into the family,” so to speak, and they’re going to be the caretakers of our young players in Providence.

Obviously, this is something, we don’t take lightly, and it’s something that we’ve been working on hard since Scott was in the mix with the Islanders.

So there you have it. We’re close to making a decision there, and after that we’re a couple weeks from camp, and it’ll be very hectic. I’ll talk to you shortly.

Scotty was a good coach down in Providence. He was crucial in their playoff run and the development of the young players. It'll be interesting to see how the Islanders pan out.
Who coaches the P-Bruins now?
