I'd give the Lakers brass seasons tickets to (enter team traded to here) to watch Kobe keep walking all over the league. Meanwhile the Laker big-whigs will be shaking their heads wondering why they ever traded him.

For the Wolves, anyone except Al Jefferson, which means they would have no chance. You have to give up a stud to get one in his prime. Draft picks aren't enough, you never know what those will turn into.

This is kind of a dumb thread, you don't trade MVP's from the best team in the west for fair value. In two years, it may be a conversation. Right now, the ONLY person is all reality that you would not give up for Kobe straight up is LeBron. If the Lakers called up Miami, and said, hey we will give you Kobe for Wade, the Heat would do it in a nanosecond. Same for Howard and Orlando, or anyone else in the league

my bad dude, not trying to pick at all. I shouldn't have written the first part. Its just that no trade except Kobe for Lebron would make sense for the Lakers, and Cleveland would never do that. Know what I'm saying?

lol @ "you don't trade MVP's" so Dwight or Wade would have been traded for Nash a couple years ago?

Give Dwight or Wade Pau Gasol, Odom and shooters and see how far they get......you know, the same argument used when Kobe was missing the playoffs and getting knocked out in the 1st round?

lol, keep believeing that. Kobe's value is significantly overrated by Kobe stans. He's not "clearly" the best player in the league, it's only ARGUABLE. Anyway, no GM is making those trades you suggested.

lol, keep believeing that

believing what??? Trading a 23 year old who averages more points, rebounds, assists, and blocks, with the same steals, as a 29 year old?? Not much to believe in. Ask any non biased Laker fan, would you trade LeBron for Kobe straight up? I can tell you with 100% certainty, that the Lakers franchise would do that trade before you were finished with this sentence.

Yes, at those times, the GM's of those perspective teams would not have traded those players. An MVP's value is highly overrated, because basketball is a team sport, therefore, the best team is not simply the best team because of one player, but a collection. And yes, if the Lakers were to inquire into getting Wade, Howard, or pretty much anyone straight up besides LeBron, yeah, the other team would do it right away.

oh, and by the way, I hate Kobe. I don't respect him as a person, or a teammate. The Lakers are my least favorite team after SA, so biased in not factoring in here. I just understand basketball, and how the market trends work. Kobe, at this point, is close to untradeable. The only thing that the Lakers would take is LeBron, and that aint happening

Yeah bro im pretty sure that if the cavs would trade Lebron for Kobe, the lakers would do it, besides i think that the best NBA player in the NBA right now is Lebron, not kobe, And im not trying to say anything bad because after all Kobe was my Fav player Since like forever, but come on to say you dont trade MVPs, when your getting a player like Lebron **** MVPs.:D

I'm a Laker fan and I would do that trade anyday. Kobe for Lebron straight-up in a heartbeat. I do not think Lebron is the better player by any means, but he is very close and is only 24. Sadly, Kobe is 30 years old.
