Another solid player leaving the NBA

Not a real big deal at all. Surprised teams here in the U.S. don't have a need for a three point shooter though. (Sixers)

And another goes. Oh well, best of luck.

Gordan Giricek? who?

I dont know, but 2 different websites reported him signing in 2 different countries

I wonder how thats going to work out

I thought he did okay for the Suns-so they didn't want him back? Or is it just a $$$ issue?

08-19-2008, 10:45 PM
No one was making him any offers so he packed his bags and left the country. I wonder if they will televise any of these games over seas like olympiakos with childress or if gordon heads over there whatever team he signs with.

^Well, he needs to earn a living just like everyone else-so if he must go overseas to do so. But I can't imagine that some team here wouldn't be able to use him. He's not that crappy-or is he?

I wonder how Suns offense will look like now...and defense too

yeah wasting money on the shawn marion shaq trade thats why the suns have the now Cash problems i mean that was the worst trade ever trust me suns wouldve been out of the first round against the spurs suns biggest mistakes ever.

giving up Joe johnson for nothing they wouldve already won the championship in 07. now giving up shawn marion for shaq? whos already in his mid 30s and is slowing down now the suns arent barely even close of winning the championship anymore...

Gordan Giricek has reportedly signed a two-year contract to play for the Turkish team Fenerbahce. Similar to Josh Childress' contract, Giricek has the option to return to the NBA next summer.
Initial reports errantly stated that Giricek had signed with Russia's Triumph Lyubertsy. He was no longer in high demand in the NBA, and although the Spurs made him an offer, he found more money in Europe. He began last season with the Jazz, was traded to the 76ers for Kyle Korver, and eventually signed with the Suns after Philadelphia waived him.

the bolded text is what I was referring to in my previous post

He didn't do anything for the Sixers but shoot poorly. He did pretty well with the Suns though.
