George Mikan, Jerry West, and Elgin Baylor are three players that come off the top of my head. George Mikan just simply never had the chance as he retired the year the MVP award was created. Although, if he had played, he surely would've won 5 or 6 MVPs (he played 7 years in the NBA). Jerry West and Elgin Baylor played in a time where Wilt Chamberlain was dominating and putting up ridiculous stats so it was nearly impossible for them to win the award.

I would have to say Jerry West. He is the freakin' symbol of the NBA.

Right now, LeBron. He's winning one though.

George Mikan
Jerry West
Elgin Baylor

You may consider Lebron better than them, but you cannot say "by far." BTW those three are better than Lebron.

He did not. Neither did Elgin Baylor or George Mikan.

No, Jerry West is the NBA, it's just not right. George Mikan dominated the game at his time and no mvp. What are the selection process of MVP winners at that time? still through voting?

There actually was no MVP award while he was playing so he literally had no chance of winning the award. Otherwise he surely would've won six MVPs out of the seven years he played (he won 5 championships in his seven year career).

So that's why. Ok, thanks for an nba history lesson, much appreciated.:D

Well I clearly miss interpreted the thread if it was an "all-time" thread then you would be right, but from where I was coming from I was right.

Reggie Miller, if Jordan wasn't around he would of had been the best shooting guard of the 90's, and won 2 or 3 championships and an mvp.

06-07 season Kobe averaged 35/5/5 and definitely BY FAR was the best player who didn't win MVP
And he took Kwame/Smush/Luke/Radman(?) as his starters to 7 games against the suns.
