At 6'1, one hundred and eighty pounds, he has to remind you of Isiah Thomas. In my eyes, he is every thing you want in young point guard and more. Its one thing to increase your scoring from 16.1 PPG as a rookie to 21.1PPG in your third year. But to increase your assist total from 7.8 as a rookie to 11.6 in your third year is more mind blogging, until you look at Isiah's statistics. In his first year he scored 17.0 PPG and 21.3 as a third year player. His assist total went from 7.8 as a rookie to 11.1 as a third year player. Its the second coming!

Isiah Thomas won two NBA championships with a supporting cast that is by some degree better than Chris Paul's. Is in unrealistic to think Chris Paul can win more than two or more championships?

he will be a die heart competitor and a winner, i see him winning more then one ring by the end of his long career, a pg who is tough and not injury prone, he has a winning fire in him .. seeing him play just reminds me how much heart players can have, love for the game
CP3 is a soon to be champ

There is no reason why Paul should not be the Best PG in the NBA. His stats last year proved it! He should have been MVP. CP3 is the PG to beat in the NBA.

Yeah cp3 should of been MVP last year because they became a good team out of no where. So yeah i bet either Wade or him are going to win MVP. And i really think that when its all said and done Cp3 will be a better player then Thomas was.

Since you go by stats, I'll give you my insight on the matter:

Chris Paul's stat increases

16.1 PPG - 21.1 PPG = 5 PPG increase
7.8 APG - 11.6 APG = 3.8 APG increase

Deron Williams stat increases

10.8 PPG - 18.8 PPG = 8 PPG increase
4.5 APG - 10.5 APG = 6 APG increase

Deron Williams is definitely better. He's definitely better during their head-to-head matchups, and is the better overall player.

Not really Paul is better then WIlliams, not by alot but he really is better.

By Craig Kwasniewski

"In the four meetings (which the Jazz won 3-1), Paul averaged 12.3 points, 9.3 assists and shot an alarming 30.6% from the field compared to his season averages of 21.5 points, 11.5 assists and 49.1%. Against New Orleans Williams averaged 16.8 points, 11.0 assists and shot 57.4% compared to 19.2 points, 10.5 assists and 51.2% for the season. Based on stats and results Williams clearly wins the head-to-head match-up for 2007-08. And unlike the last two seasons where the Jazz were obviously the better team, Paul's Hornets have the best record in the Western Conference so there's no excuse (BTW - Williams career NBA record against Paul is 8-2)."

I think that says it all right there.

CP3 is just sooo fun to watch. I'm not old enough to have actually seen Isiah Thomas play (unfortuanetely). I used to play PG for my travel team, and I think if I was able to see CP3 play the way he does now back then, I would have been so much better. He is exactly what a PG is supposed to be. I hate to use an old saying, but if you look up PG in the dictionary, you'll see a picture of CP3. And apparently Isiah Thomas would be in the thesaurus as a synonym.

Lmao, what happens when it comes to Jazz/Hornets in the playoffs? You know the NBA season is relatively pointless right? It's all about the playoffs.

Lol, by the way, you need to change CP3 and Isiah in that statement :p

how does that staff prove Deron Williams is the better player? That proves Deron Williams improved a lot but Chris Paul still has better stats than him despite how much he improved thus Chris Paul > Deron Williams.

Is CP3 the best PG in the NBA? That is like asking; Do humans need oxygen to live? The answer to both is a big clear YES.

OK the "better player" is OPINION so why argue about who's opinion is right or wrong?

I think CP3 will be viewed as the best PG in the game, with D-Will a ridiculously close 2nd. <-----that's not to say I like Paul more or less than Deron but that's just how I think he will be viewed.

I'm just happy we are getting away from the PG's who are purely scorers....you see guys like Paul and D-Will who can kill you in so many ways...it's a fun era starting up in the NBA with so many young, exciting, and unselfish studs coming up....hopefully Rose, Connely, Sessions, and others can follow the pattern of these guys and we could have the NBA the best it's been in a very long time....

I Really can't stand when DWill fans always come with that "DWills record a aginst paul... DWills is better" yeah that may be a way to tell if one player was better than tha other... If you were playin 1 on 1. check tha stats.

As I recall... CP3 was runner up for MVP. Not DWill. :moon:
