After signing of 1+1 deal worth 6 million euros with Serbian center Nenad Krstic (213-C-83), Triumph Lyubertsy grabbed another NBA player. It is Croat Gordan Giricek (197-G-77), who put signature on one-year deal. During this season Giricek will earn 2.5 million euros. Giricek is coming from Phoenix Suns with 5.8 ppg, 1.7 rpg and 1.1 apg for 56 games last season in total. He started it in Utah Jazz but in December he was traded to 76ers for Kyle Korver. Finally in March he joined the Suns. Giricek already has nice experience from Russia. He played for CSKA Moscow on season 01/02 draining 22.9 ppg for 18 Euroleague games. After that season he moved to USA. At the first point he played for Memphis Grizzlies and later for Orlando Magic and Utah Jazz. The best digits in NBA Giricek registered as a player of Orlando Magic. He ended that season having 14.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.5 apg and 1.1 spg for 27 games in Orlando's jersey. His biggest achievement in NBA is the final of Western Conference in 07.

Another former Euroleague star is returning home to Europe with the announcement on Tuesday that Fenerbahce Ulker has signed shooting star Gordan Giricek to a two-year contract. Giricek (199, 31) last played in the Euroleague for CSKA Moscow in 2001-02, finishing second that season in scoring behind the late Alphonso Ford. Since 2002-03, Giricek has played for five NBA teams - Memphis, Orlando, Utah Philadelphia and Phoenix - in six seasons, averaging 9.6 points in 23 minutes per game over the years. He was a double-digit scorer in his first two full NBA seasons and ranks fifth for the most points, 29, in his debut game in the league. Fenerbahce becomes Giricek's third Euroleague team. Previous to his single season at CSKA, Giricek played several years in his native Croatia for Cibona Zagreb. Giricek helped shoot Cibona to five straight Croatian League titles between 1997 and 2001.
