Who do you think is the Most dissapointing contender ever? im not talking one year runs like malones lakers im talking teams that year after year where favourites and year after year they failed and never got a ring.

One could say that 60 lakers are the worst, but at last they Won against NY so they dont qualify.

Here are the candidates.

Current: Suns, Mavericks

Beggining of the centruy Kings.

Rileys Heat mark 1 ( Majerle, Zo etc etc)

Rileys Knicks.

Price, Daugherty, Nance, Ferry, Harper, ehlos, Hot rod Cavs 1st 90s.

MId 90s Jazz.

80s Suns

80s Mavs.

80s Nuggets.

My candidate is 90s Cavs.

2000-2007 Timberwolves. Best player in basketball in his prime doesn't get a decent team built around him. He has to step out to Boston who builds that team in a heartbeat. ( Best player of that time). Could they have gone past the first round if they hadn't soiled the sheets with an illegal contract for a mediocre player. Re-think those drafts with the wolves picking some guys.

Mavericks IMO..they had the best team before last year, and the year before..but failed to win a title. They couldn't even win with Nash and Dirk in their prime. They were up 2-0 on the Heat in the NBA finals and up 13 with about 5 minutes left and completely fell apart. The Suns have to be up there too..I think they'll be pretty good this year, but they lost their coach, Marion, and I don't trust Shaq..he is just too old now. Steve Nash isn't getting any younger himself.

Maybe the 1st seed Heat who lost to Knicks. Or the Mavs who lost to GS.

The Sonics in the 90's with Payton, Kemp, Schrempf, Ellis, etc. They were so good and then just couldnt get it done.

as a die hard Wolves fan, thank you so much for reminding me. In all reality, they were only contenders 1-2 of those years. The Joe Smith deal cost them big time, and they drafted poorly. They also had some bad luck though. Terrell Brandon was a heck of a point, and they let BIllups walk knowing they had Brandon, and then he goes down. Same with Cassell in the 04 playoffs. They had a real shot to win it all, but he couldn't play against the Lakers
