They have won 51+ games in their last 8 years.

2000-2001 - 53-29
2001-2002 - 57-25
2002-2003 - 60-22
2003-2004 - 52-30
2004-2005 - 58-24
2005-2006 - 60-22
2006-2007 - 67-15
2007-2008 - 51-31

This is a team of continued success in the season and as a Bulls fan I would love to have success like this over a 8 year period of time now.

I guess having an owner concerned about winning and not about bottom line is a good thing. Who'd a thunk it.

Problem is that the success kind of stops when they reach the playoffs. I'd rather have the Heat, they were good for like two season, but they came out with a NBA Title.

and then they won 15 games this year, as a fan, I never want my team to only win 15 games, even if you get beasley out of it.

They always do trades that make them good enough for the playoffs, but don't make them great enough to win it all. I would have to count out the Jason kid trade cause i thought that trade was stupid. I think in order for them to win it all, they would have to get another all star to team up with Dirk. Or if it doesn't work out then i think they would just have to trade Dirk. Almost doesn't count.

Yea thats like the Spurs. The Spurs have won 50 + games 9 years in a row I believe, and 8 straight of 55 + I believe.

I'm spoiled to have been a fan of a team with this type of winning, I know it's going to be a sad day for me when Tim retires.

mark cuban cares about his team, and dishes out a lot of cash, so I understand why they've been able to win.

as a fan, I would like a team that constantly wins, a team that is constantly a contender, rather than having a team that has 1 or 2 great season, and 1 championship.

Interesting, specially since they spent the WHOLE 90s in the lottery.

How can a team suck for so long and then exceel for so long too????

Whaaaa? You'd settle for a contender over a champion? You'd give up 2 great seasons for a lifetime of never reaching the finish line? Sucks to be u.

I have the utmost respect for Cubans willingness to spend but hes gotten pretty lucky too.

Well said.

Well obviously some people do. And if you dont care why even bother wasting time typing a post for this thread? You clearly see other posts talking about the the topic so obviously people care.

anyways

Every team is gunna have ups and downs. Celtics were great waay back and then it was 22 years of ups and downs. def more downs. 18 straight loses in a row one season. its all tough to watch. Then this year came a title. And it looks like were going to be contenders and win lots of games for a few years now. Dallas has been a good for years, spurs, and eventually, they go through some tough years. It happens. thats what being a fans all about

Well in terms of Stability and Continued success i guess that no one Beats the Lakers, and thats something even haters should recognise.

In 20 + Years ive been following them ive only seen them out of the Play offs twice and very few times have they been out in the first Round.

The only thing missing from the last 8 years is a ring. Maybe they will get it maybe they wont. Only time will tell.

Also having a team that is at the very least in the discussion of winning it all every year is something most teams can't say. All fans of their respective teams really want is hope. Hope that their team gets a great lottery pick out of that bad season, hope that they can make the playoffs, hope they can have a winning season, hope their team wins a championship etc etc. So the argument imo is closer than one might think, as to whether or not having a consistent contender is better than having one good year and then sucking the rest of them. =/

I kind of admire the good job done in Dallas, and quite like the team, i used to love them back then in the last 80s.

Its incredible how much credibility has this team won in the last years, maybe they have not won a ring but they had two tough DINASTYS in the way with Lakers and Spurs , i guess is kind of the 80s Bucks who where very good but always ended up facing Either Boston or Detroit so they didnt have a chance to win but were contending every year.

Its specially awesome since they lost all kind of credibility during the 90s, i remember Jim Jackson only accepting to sign his Rookie contract when season was about to end because he did by no means want to sign a contract with a team that had two straight 12-70 records in the last two seasons, and Kidd wanting to get traded from day one too ( How do things change in ten years isnt it Jason?).
To top it they had a lot of bad luck in draft day, they always were with a lot of chances to win the Shaq Derby, the Webber Derby the Iverson Derby, the Duncan Derby but somehow they never came up with the Lucky ball.

They tried hiring good coaches but it never worked until they got Nellie, i think that was the turning point Getting Nellie and stricking the Jackpot when they made the Bold, and sure criticized at the moment trade of Traylors rights for Dirks.

Thats when players started to want to go to Dallas Again, and that is a hell of an achievement itself, because its not a quiet city like San Antonio and not as cosmopolitan as others like NY , Chi or L.A but still players want to go there badly.

So props to Cuban and clap to Mavs fans, you have an incredible team.

The "original" Mavs downfall started when they started to make Weird trades for Fat Lever and Perkins for i dont even remember who or just let walk Harper and Blackman to Ny....

Cuban has been graced with a better GM staff.
