Royals Sign Eric Hosmer

11:40pm: According to Baseball America's Jim Callis, the Royals signed Eric Hosmer to a minor league deal. Terms are not yet known. Great draft for the Royals, spending big on Hosmer and Tim Melville.

12:05am: Jonathan Mayo says Hosmer received $6MM. Nice job by Scott Boras.

another good signing...we're building the minor leagues back up with talent. we're gonna rock in 3 years! we'll be good next year, but we're talking deep post-season stuff here.

Meh, I won't count my chickens yet.

This has all happened before with Lubanski, Campbell, Griffin, Macdougal.

Hopefully Greinke, Butler, Gordon, Hochevar, Hosmer, and Moustakas pan out.

We have good youth, but it just has to come through

My question is, how crowded can the corner infield spots get for the Royals? They've now got Teahen, Hosmer, Gordon, Butler and Kaaihue all vying for a corner infield spot. I suppose these things kind of work themselves out, but that's a lot of bats that should be pushing for a spot.

Teahen moved to left. Butler DH. Gordan third. Kaaihue first. Hosmer needs time.
