DETROIT -- Reliever Freddy Dolsi (1-4, 3.96 ERA, 2 saves) was optioned back to Toledo after today's game, and reliever Todd Jones (4-1, 5.05, 18 saves) will be added to the roster before Friday night's game here with Baltimore.

Dolsi stepped up in the setup roll earlier in the year when injuries afforded an opportunity, but was inconsistent lately.

"Freddy's a diamond in the rough," Leyland said, "but he's still a little rough.

"Jonesy's coming back and we'll play with that. He was pretty crisp throwing yesterday. There's not anything etched in stone (on how he will be used)."

Thats fine to send Dolsi down to work on some stuff before coming back up in September (most likely) but Jones.....uh oh

whatever. at this point it doesnt matter. we're not going to send Jones down to the minors. Dolsi definitely has some things to work on. He could be extremely effective with some more seasoning.
Anything ever happen to that guy Cruceta? is he still in this organization? i'm still hoping he has the ability to make the team next year.
