The Showtime team would win, although it would be close between the 72 team. The Lakers went to the finals 8 times during the 80's and won 5 titles, I just don't see any team beating them, especially with the talent and depth they had at each position.

Magic
B. Scott
Worthy/M. Cooper
K. Rambis
K. Abdul-Jabbar

Now you can throw in all the other greats that were on the team throughout out the 80's: J. Wilkes, B. Mcadoo, N. Nixon, AC Green, M. Thompson.

The 80's Lakers had way too much talent to be beaten.

The First 80s Lakers Nixon,Cooper,Magic,Kutchap,Wilkes,Kareem (still prime)

second place for ShowTime and third for Minneapolis Lakers.

Three powerfull teams.

Sorry but the Shaq , Kobe era didnt have so much depth.

And as for Wilts and Wests, well they were just a punching Ball for Celtics and Knicks :D so they are out of the race.

Yes they dominated...... A Pacers team whith 500000 years of average Age where Croshere was suppossed to be some kind of star.

Allen Iverson and a Bunch of Mariachis who are still rejoiced around the league nowdays because they where so good like, Geiger,Tall Fat man who shot threes ( dont remember the name), Eric snow, Aron Mckie etc etc etc.

And least but not last The ( Let the drums roll) Keith Van Horns!!!!! Nets....

Not surprisingly the first time they faced a REAL team in 04 they lost.

If you're going to take a Shaq Lakers team, you should take one that actually won a title. But I would be hard pressed to not say the showtime lakers that went back to back aren't the best. They're probably one of the top 5 teams of all time...

hey we got to give some credit to the shaq and kobe lakers that won 3 champs they were a solid team with good chemistry im not saying that they are better than the show time and 70's lakers but atleast better then the big four.. they werent in there primes at all whne they were together and they didnt even win a championship...

Yes because when the Lakers made the playoffs they were given a free pass to the Finals.
