The 12th overall pick in the 2008 Draft has high expectations on him (mostly from us Kings fans) this season. I like Mikki Moore and the leadership and energy he brings, but he's not part of our future. Though he will likely see most of the minutes at power forward at the start of the season, I like to think Thompson could eventually work his way into a major part of the rotation and maybe even a starting spot.

His numbers during the summer league were:

PPG: 16.2
RPG: 8.6
APG: 0.6
SPG: 0.2
BPG: 0.6
FG%: 49.0
3FG%: 20.0
TOPG: 3.6
MPG: 29.4

Games Played: 5
Games Started: 2

That said, what do you expect from Jason Thompson this season? Keep in mind, he's already the most talented power forward we have and that if anything happens to Moore at any point in the season (injury, trade, suspension, etc.) Jason Thompson could become the starter.

if he gets the minutes 14/6 is not out of the question.....he just needs to play

I think that he'll probably average 9-10 ppg and 6-7 rpg. The first five games of the season will be pretty important. He'll get to play more since we're going to be short-handed with Brad Miller's suspension. If he plays well in those five games, he'll work his way into the rotation sooner.

I think if given the minutes, JT will be good for 9 and 7 in 18-25 minutes off the bench. Like I said, if anything happens to Moore at any point during the season, the starting spot could go to Thompson for the rest of the year.

I'll make sure something happens to Moore ;)

If he does get about 20 min a game, I expect around 10 and 8 with a block as well. The kid can run the floor beautifully, which is perfect in our offense. He is very versatile player as well, reminds me a lot of Chris Webber back in the day.

The only thing i expect from JT is hard work and production.
