Similar to the method last year, we will do a poll for the Seeding in the West.

We will start with #1. Each poll will have the teams to choose from and you must vote within 48 hours of this post. Have fun!

Examples:

Past Year Example Seed #1 (http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139366)

And the matchups will look something like this.

I'll have to go with the defending Western Conference Champs here.

Adding another 7 footer that averaged 14/10 makes their case only stronger, IMO.

This is a great idea, but JB i suggest, i know it will be hard, but keep an eye on those posters that may go into their own team forum and make a thread telling fellow fans to vote for their team, somewhat what had happen to the #10 best player ever.

I gotta go with the Hornets. Anytime you have CP3, and and a good supporting cast arround him, you've got a chance to win it all.

The Lakers should have the no. 1 seed with a healthy Bynum returning.

Pretty bold statement for a guy who has made only 1 playoff run. Not doubting CP3's talent, the guy is a magician with the ball and a joy to watch. But I suspect they overachieved a bit last year. They had a perfectly healthy season and took everyone by suprise. I don't think that will happen again this year.

My vote is LA, but Houston can easily take it, they just have the most and biggest IFs. IF for once Tmac and Yao can stay healthy for a season. IF Artest can mesh and be a third option.

Spurs are older but still in the mix.

I'm going with my homer pick, but also an underdog pick. No one expected this team to make the playoffs last year, can't sleep on them again this year. They've added more experience and can only get better this year. I'm going with the Hornets.

has to be the lakers. if they are healthy, they will outperform everyone else.

The Rockets are like fine china. They will break down before they hit the half way point. They are way too fragile. They have a glass jaw!

New Orleans will skewer the Lakers this year - , Chris Paul will be MVP....

The Hornets are a far better defensive team, and they will be much hungrier than the big softies on the LA squad - Pau and AB

Rockets would have been number 1 last season if Yao Ming didnt go down. The Rockets will be number 1 this year without a doubt.

I almost went with the Rockets, but I picked the Hornets. I believe that Paul will continue to improve, and the addition of Posey will help CP3, West, and Chandler top the West this year.

My vote goes to Kobe and Co. Adding Bynum in the mix solidifies my vote as well.

The Lakers are #1 until proven wrong. They deserve this spot as the defending Western Conference Champions.

I went with SA. Its and odd year. Lakers wont be number 1 seed. Wont get back to the finals. Rockets wont be healthy enough to get the 1 seed. I think the Hornets will be good but people know there for real now. they wont get the number 1 seed. i wont go against the spurs in an odd year til they actually dont win

Its funny Golden State has a vote. I guess it doesnt hurt to believe. I Hope OKC or Memphis gets a vote as well.

Honestly this shouldnt even be a question...you add one of the leagues better centers to a team that dominated the West last year, and it's an easy answer.

I pick teams that people don't give credit to that really can just as easily win it all with the talent they have.

I'm going with the Hornets. I honestly think the Lakers, Hornets and Rockets - and maybe even more teams - all have legit shots at it, but I'm just going to say that I think things are really going to click for N.O. this season.

News flash for Lakers homers:

Not picking the Lakers to win does not equate to hatred of the Lakers.

(I'm not saying you personally are a "Lakers homer", but there is sometimes a feeling among non-Lakers fans that those who live in Lakerland believe the world revolves around them - when in fact it does NOT. The Nuggets fell apart - horrifically so - but any team with that much talent on the roster has a legit enough shot at upsetting any team in the league - even if they do have Kobe and Pau).

Bynum is extremely overrated

And the Rockets are adding the BEST center in the league to their team along with arguably the best defender in the league to a team that was the #4 seed last season.

The Lakers are not the easy answer, it could go either way

I picked all the lower seeds out west to win in the 1st round.

Also I picked the Lakers to beat Utah.
