I watched the Olympic matchup between the US and China and wanted to say Yao did himself proud with his demenour and with the way he carried himself. He was leaner, which is good, but looked a step slow, seemed to twist his ankle during the game and was out of shape. Even as his team was being killed by the US team he supported and proved a true ambassador. I have a new found respect for Yao and hope he keeps to his word and tells the Chinese govt, no more, this it, I owe you nothing. This is a great article essentially saying the same thing.http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing/basketball/news;_ylt=AtzgYeS.KAv1JisMLLKY5T.8vLYF?slug=aw-yaoteamusa081008&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

He never dogs it, that may be his downfall.

The entire Chinese team looked bad so I dont blame Yao for playing pretty bad himself

its not like china can beat u.s. as long as yaos happy with how the olympics goes and he doesn't push himself too hard. training camp is right around the corner.

I watched the game against Spain and Yao is not needed on this team. It's obvious that the team strategy is to dribble penetrate and jack 3's. U don't need Yao for that. It was so sad seeing Yao having a tough time. He looked tired, still not in game shape and lacked balance. He was not even being used by his teammates. When they where up 15 on Spain, they should have slowed the game down and given Yao some touches. Why is he there if they are not going to use him? Yao has said this is his last Olympics, that is very good to hear, cause they don't need him.
