Kobe Bryant was asked on Friday if he would consider a super-lucrative deal from a team in Italy when he becomes a free agent next summer.

“I’d go. I’d probably go,” said Bryant, during a USA Basketball press conference on Friday morning. “Like Milan or something like that, where I grew up or something like that… Peace out.”

Usually the words in between the quote symbols means that a certain person said them. In this case it was Kobe. You've never said peace out before? You're probably too cool to say something like that...would you prefere something like, "Catch ya later broham."

This sucks. I hate the idea of losing our best players.

But I think David Stern will step in and intervene if these are feasible threats. Maybe something like the MLS, where each team has the opportunity to sign one elite player outside of the salary cap.

wade wouldnt turn it down either

"It's the sudden wave of players bolting the league to play basketball overseas. "They throw 30, 40, 50 million a year at me? I can't turn that down," said Heat star Dwyane Wade, a free agent in 2010. Arizona Republic"

Wow. I would take the deal for sure, but for the sake of my entertainment, I hope he doesn't. :)

I'd love to see a European team pay someone like LeBron or Kobe over 50M year.

I dont see it happening, atleast not anytime soon

the way it used to work (I cant come up with too many examples) is that Europe was sort of a retirement trip for players when they couldnt find a team in the NBA... the only example I could come up with is Tom Chambers, but he is a terrible example

I would take that money and go. There is nothing but positives out of it for him. He goes and plays one year and makes a ton of cash. Two that is where he grew up so its not like he is going to be completely unfamiliar surroundings when it comes to a different culture. Three If he doesn't get another major deal like that which I would be suprised if he didnt he would come back to the NBA as a FA and get paid a ton of cash. Lastly he would be getting paid a ton of cash. I hope he does go that way the Hornets won't have to worry about trying to defend him on our way to the championship series :)

he is already making roughly 40 mil a year counting endorsements.. even if he gets offered more money a year, what is the point? what are you going to do with an extra 20 mil a year if you are already making so much money here in America?

Who are you? Are you an alien from outer space or were you just born yesterday? LOL... People tend to always want for more... Greed is everywhere... He could spend all of the extra 20 mil in just a month... That is just how it goes...

could anybody see a "dream team" Euro team...a team that would go after 2-3 guys like LeBron, Wade, Mello, Bosh, Kobe, and these Euro teams could get some of these High School All-Americans to play with them for a year: They get a good player and the player gets to show off his game while making millions

I don't think any of them would actually do it. I think that they're just trying to be PC and talking out of their *****. They're in an international competition and they're trying to show some respect for the Euro league. But if it really came down to it, I don't think any of today's biggest stars would want to be anywhere other than basketballs biggest stage........the NBA.

of course he'll take the deal...is he a sellout??? its 50 ****ing million dollars. But right now all this is really is just talk. ill care about this when Kobe or Lebron are actually free agents and we see actually contracts offered for 50 million. til then its really all what ifs.
