Ranking the East - Hoops World

The Boston Celtics returned the NBA Championship to the Eastern Conference and this summer teams are making moves to keep it there. HOOPSWORLD takes a look at the power rankings in the East with its current rosters.

1. Boston Celtics:

2. Cleveland Cavaliers:

3. Detroit Pistons:

4. Philadelphia 76ers:

5. Toronto Raptors: The Raptors needed another rebounder and got one of the most proven big men in the league. If he can stay healthy, the duo of Jermaine O'Neal and Chris Bosh could be one of the most dominating frontcourt duos in the East. Jose Calderon also gives the Raptors consistency (and impeccable ball handling) as their only starting point guard. They may not be the most experienced group as a whole, but this tandem of talent should be enough to get the Raptors out of the first round of the playoffs.

6. Orlando Magic:

7. Washington Wizards:

8. Indiana Pacers: Watch out for this season's version of the Atlanta Hawks. The Pacers have been discounted from playoff talks since the days of Ron Artest but they finally have the pieces they need to contend. Combine the emerging Danny Granger and recently acquired T.J. Ford with veterans Jeff Foster, Mike Dunleavy Jr., and Troy Murphy, and the Pacers have a lineup that could be good enough to grab the eighth seed in the East.

9. Miami Heat:

10. Atlanta Hawks:

11. Charlotte Bobcats:

12. Chicago Bulls:

13. Milwaukee Bucks:

14. New Jersey Nets:

15. New York Knicks:

I can really picture a playoff match-up with Philly ever since they got Brand and we got JO. I do think it will be a 4-5 match-up with us hopefully being the 4 seed with home court.

im pretty sure as well that were going to get philly in the 1st round. but i say we would rank #4 over #5. Cleveland #2? i would rank them a lot lower, in fact i would swap them w/ magic. then swap magic & pistons. and lastly, put miami in the #8 spot, not indy.

Not bad.........If everything goes our way I see us ahead of cleavend , Detroit possibly and 76ers.....what big three would you rather want..... Brand, Sameaul Dalembert, AI.....or bosh, jermaine, Calderon I would say Raps for sure............Brand ,Big upside - injury case .....Dalembert good defender but not great offence and AI, great scorer and good defence..............Bosh 20 and 10 guy, Jermaine, Big upside - injury case, Jose calderon will be an allstar this year......I like both teams bench, but I give us the edge there.

And I don't see Indy at the 8 spot...I think that goes to the team that almost beat the champs and took them to a game 7....the Halks

Well that wouldnt be there big 3 but I will play along. Who would you rather have between Miller, Young, Lou, Evans and Green compared to Parker, Moon, Kapono, Hump and Ukic? Its not even close IMO.

Agree, it' not even close, i will rather have miller, young, lou, evans and green for sure any day. Hump can't play at all, moon suppose to be a defensive specialist but always get blown by swingmen from other teams.. Ukic still unproven, he haven't played a game in the nba, all Kopono does is only shoot 3s, and he can't defend at all, and i can say Parker is the only solid player out of tat group of raptors players. Still he is only an average player. So time to look at the Sixers, Miller just came off an awesome awesome year, 17 ppg, 7 Assist, those are great numbers, he average 4 more point per game more than Hump-Moon combined.. lol.. and no one in the raptors group u mention above have assist nubmers barely close to him. No doubt, he is the best players out of the two groups. Young have trendmenous potiental as even raptors fan here recgonize when he came to play in toronto, he has the best potiental out of the two groups. Don't tell me moon have the same potiental as young, orelse i will slap you silly~ lol.. Green average almost the same ppg with paker, the best player in the raptors group already. But Green is only the 2nd or 3rd player in the sixer group. Evans average more rebounds per game than anyone in the raptors group, and lastly Louis william average 11.5 ppg last year, if we put him the raptors list, he is already the 2nd top scorer, he average 4 more ppg compare to Kopono amazing season averge of 7.2 ppg omfg.. lol.. so yah i surely agree with you the wise, and you are a wise one for saying it' not even close, yah it' not even close if we compare the above sixer group with the raptors, not even close!!!

raptors have a better starting five..thats all that matters because they will get majority of playing time..and you guys forgot about Bargnani hes our #1 pick who has a better upside than most of the 76er's bench players

bargnani is worse than those guys but has more upside. Bargnani's upside is sky-high. If he could put it together he could be as good as Dirk. However his lack of toughness which he could pick up prevents this. I doubt he will ever be even close but his upside will always be there.

Your intitled to your opinion, but I stand by what I said.........We'll have to let it play out and see who's right.( Oh and I just don't see talent, It's about what pieces play well together, And im counting on that to be one of the raptors strong points.......And your wrong about Hump, anytime he got mins he's produced, When barg got hurt, Hump was a big reason we went on a winning strech, he avg about a double double over those ten games, Led all softmores in college at rebounds and scoreing, a comment like that, makes me question your overall knowledge of everything, and to talk down about Jamerio....... as a rookie, becomes a starter, blocked AI at the end of a game for the win, blocked Lebron twice in one game, as a rookie, had 17 consective games in a row with with a block......great open court player and he's a really good rebounder, now he's got improving to do, but as a rookie he did great his first year, and lou is a shoot first point gaurd, personilty I hate shoot first point gaurgs, and just because Roko is unproven, doesn't change the fact that he's a great player, Kopono showed in playoffs that he can do more than shoot 3's, yes his three is the weapon, and when he gets going, people rush at him, he can put the ball down and make plays and shots....another ignorant comment, in my opinion, there's alot more I could touch on, but Im going to cut it off here........With all that said, I do think the 76's got a talented bench, and I expect people to disagree with me, If evrybody thought like me, I wouldn't be the great thinker I beleive myself to be .....Great minds don't think alike.......Peace

Well, for you to think you are a great thinker.. first you need to show why with my clear and clever stats that i gave you on the sixer' bench that you still think the raptors have a bench better than the sixers. All you said, 'great thinker' is you go on talking about how good hump is WAY BACK IN FREAKING COLLEAGE.. mmmm.. And no he did not average double double in the ten games, he never average double double, so please give me the exact stats to let me believe you, and even if he average a double double, it' only 10 games, he is not consistant. And yah, i have the absolute right to put down moon, since he got owned by almost every star wing player last year, i guess you don't follow the raptors since you are giving me idiotic feedbacks, but if you have alteast watch a game, he got owned, he might be ok, but he is not your starter, tat for sure. And also I am very disappointed in you, cuz you did not respect the play tat miller and young put on last year, they were awesome, show some respect, yo. Moreover, back to your comparison about colleage, then i can say, arujo is an all star player since he play well in colleage.. come on, 'great thinker'... playing well in colleage doesn't means you produce in the damn nba.. many garbage time players in the nba were very good player back in the colleage days.. And one more point, if you want to back up your arguments, PROVE TO ME why sixers have not a talent bench, like why, such as who do you think have more potiential than young, and out of tat gorup, who is a better pg than miller?? and who can out rebound evans in your group? and why the third best player in the sixer group; Green average the same numbers with the 1st best player in the raptor group, etc, and not go off on saying how good a player were in colleage, or how good a shooter is when he only perform in the last 5 freaking games of the season!!!.. to call yourself a great thinker, you first need to prove your arugments.. u r a disgrace to the minds of great thinker.. man, you got to be more convincing with your points, as Star said, you are not a great thinker, you are a homo! but you can be a great thinker, i will give you another try.. lol.. and one more thing, if you give me valid point, i will agree with you, like i have with others in the pass, but i am sorry, your points is juz absolutely horrible.. saying hump is a good player BECAUSE HE WAS GOOD IN COLLEAGE.. jesus.. i am sorry, but your point today sucks big time homo. And yah i agree great mind dun think alike at all.. and also, i honestly thought u said sixers bench is far better than the raptors... cuz juz look at the stats, and shut ur mouth, and don't agree, juz be honest with yourself, it is the fact.. Just last thing. ''With all that said, I do think the 76's got a talented bench, and I expect people to disagree with me, If evrybody thought like me, I wouldn't be the great thinker I beleive myself to be"??????????? so you DO THINK the sixers got a talented bench??? then why the hell you say the raptors has a far better bench than the sixers???? if you think the sixer' bench is talented, then if you are saying the raptors have a god like bench??? what the hell, you do think the sixer have a talented bench, then wat the point of arguing with me?? And also yah man, i for sure agree with you tat sixers have a talented bench man yo, so we think alike, so tat means we are both great mind right? hahaha, thx for the appreciation man, i appreciate it dogg.

And overall, You have a weird mind instead of a great mind. I guess tat a typo rite? you mean you DO NOT think the sixer have a talented bench, rite?? Yah, Great minds don't think alikewell anyways, you disappointed me 'great thinker', lol Peace yo.
