Mark Grudzielanek revealed Wednesday that he has a torn deltoid ligament in his right ankle and may be done for the season.

Grudzielanek suffered the injury Friday night and was placed on the disabled list with what was initially diagnosed as a sprained ankle. He's expected to miss at least four weeks. "I'd be pressed to get back this year," Grudzielanek said.

It's unfortunate that Grud will be out but it gives us a chance to see what other options we have for the future.I dont think it hurts us to much offensively but it does defensively.

Now. Aviles can be the future second basemen.

this ticks me off, because i was watching that game and saw the play. ross gload caused the injury chasing a ball that was grudz's all the way. he just wouldnt let mark make the play cleanly, and took him out.

Royals got a good farm. Pays off to have the worst record every year.

actually we didnt have a good farm system, which is why we began to suck so bad in the first place. we're building it back, but it takes a little time and someone with a plan to accomplish it.

he is certainly smashing the ball. i dont expect to see him before the september call-ups, though.

I think rhensley3 is stan34. It's okay. I won't tell anyone. It's boring to be without friends, I know,

haha...sorry to dissappoint you, but stan34 is an actual person who is not me. having more than 1 identity here is a bannable offense.

Yeah I think rhensley is smarter than that.. at least I hope so.

Sucks anyways, I've always liked Grud

Mark Grudzielanek will undergo an MRI next week on his right ankle.

"It will be my fourth in four weeks," Grudzielanek said. "Once we see that, we will see how much healing its done and go from there." He's a long-shot to have any further impact for the Royals this season.

just knowing he's healthy would be a plus in my book.

Isn't it about time the Royals find a new second basemen? Grudz is old.

they're working on finding a shortstop, then moving mike aviles to second... it just takes a little time.
