Beasley, Miami will make the play-offs. I think mike will put up real solid #'s, I think 16, 8 & 1 and a top play nominee every week

It's either going to be Oden or Beasley...I do not see Rose making an immediate impact, although one could make a case for Mayo (he is my favorite rookie this year) I do not think he will be able to keep up with Oden...Oden will probably have a better season than Horford did last year which was nearly a double double...ROY goes to him.

Beasley, Rose and Mayo will have solid seasons.

Ill take ODEN. if hes 100% healthy and STAYS healthy i think he has better players around him that he'll dominate and look really good.

ODEN ALL THE WAY

I think Mayo will get it because Oden will be a 3rd option, Beasley will be a 3rd option, and Kevin Love isn't really ready for that yet. Rose will be solid, but not amazing in year 1.

I think Beasley will be our 2nd option behind Wade and then Marion will be our 3rd option giving us around 15points, but still those arent bad scoring options:)

O.J. Mayo, his game is made for the NBA

RocketsRule

O.J. Mayo, Michael Beasley, and Derrick Rose will all have solid seasons, but if Oden's knee holds up, I'd expect him to win it.

There's too much around Oden. He won't be ROY. Mayo is my favorite Rookie this year too, but I just see Beasley as the ROY.

i think Oden will win it from the standpoint that he will have a solid season ~9ppg, ~10rpg, ~3bpg and is team will make more noise

those numbers can get you ROY? they are good numbers but wont get your ROY
scoring those Mayo will score at least 20ppg 3-4apg
Beasley will get 16ppg 7-8rpg

I don't know why, but for some reason I just really like Kevin Love. I think he could average a double double as a rookie. Bayless is another guy I really like who should be on this list, but my vote goes to Love. I think Rose, Beasley and Mayo will go through some growing pains and I think that Love is the most NBA ready of all of them. Oden could be amazing, but after an entire season of injuries, I wonder if he can stay healthy for the entire year.

MiamiHeat

i dont see Love winning it,
but Bayless is sure a sleeper
he would def. put up good numbers,
he said he wants to proof 10 teams wrong

mightybosstone

Another guy to consider is Westbrook, who may not put up crazy numbers, but is by far the best perimeter defender in the draft. If he can prove himself a lockdown defender and put up decent numbers, I think he's got a decent shot.

I'll say OJ Mayo. I don't think Michael Beasley and Derrick Rose will get a whole lot of playing time to start off the year, but I think Mayo will be one of the main components of the Grizzlies right away. They don't have anyone else that can start over him. Greg Oden is my 2nd choice for the award though.

Rose, he plays on the Easy, but OJ on that team should put pretty good #s...

Beasley. And for all the people that say Mayo's game was made for the NBA, I sure hope so because it wasn't in college.

Eric Gordon is going to surprise the whole NBA. Watch him average 15-20 points once he gains the fulltime starting role. 2009 Rookie of the Year is Eric Gordon.

I think it's between Oden and Beasley. I voted for Oden because he is a big man but I won't be surprised if Beasley wins it. If Oden was 100% then definitely Oden.

beasley will probley get it

The NBA is letting Oden be in the Rookie standings? That doesnt make sense considering this is his 2nd year in the NBA. Someone explain to me how he is in the rookie of the year votings?

Why do you think Kobe has so much praise for him??

He never played in an official NBA game. He was injured all of last season. He never even played in the pre season.

i'm taking bayless as a darkhorse, he looked really good in summer league - don't know how much run he'll get in the regular season/ where they play him/ if they try and turn him into a pg -that might take a while.

Mayo is in a situation where he's gonna do good regardless. Thats what got Durant the award last year I think Mayo can do it this year.

Why do you think Kobe has so much praise for him??

He is entitled to his opinion just like you and I. Plus I am sure he was promoting the west coast kid being a Laker and all. I watched all his games though and thought he never lived up to the hype in college. Don't get me wrong the kid is good but when his team played in the NCAA Tourney both him and Beasley had bad games, difference is Beasley's bad games are a lot better then his.

I could see Love being the Hortford of last year....putting up a double double and being a playmaker for a T-Wolves team searching for an identity....

Mayo might lead all rookies in scoring because Rudy Gay is passive and the Grizzlies suck....so they need somebody to lead them in scoring....even if they get Josh Smith he will probably still be their first option....

Westbrook and Bayless are sleepers....I think anybody who tries to predict thier impact is throwing a shot in the dark....

Oden and Beasley seem to be the favorites....and rightfully so....Oden is the only true big man in the rookie class that has a realistic chance of really, truly producing at a high level this year....and Beasley is just super talented and will put up gaudy numbers more than likely....

Rose is a guy everybody is down on because of injury concerns and a nightmarish Summer Leauge....but he should be fine....I wouldnt count him out....

So that means he can officially be a rookie?

Yes. He's more of a rookie than Scola was last year....and Scola came in 3rd or 4th in the voting....
