View Full Version : If AI starts at the point, could the Nugs starting 5 average 95 ppg?

Credit to avsman for the idea of this question in his most recent post in the "have we found a pg?" thread...

So, roughly speaking:

Melo 26
AI 24
Jr 20
K-Mart 13
Nene 12

It wouldn't have to break down exactly that way. But if all 5 of those guys were healthy, were starters, and the non AI-Melo players each averaged 30+mpg, do you think a combined point average of 95ppg would be possible from this starting 5?

I would love to see that. Then have LK as our Bench offense.

Starters: 95 ppg
Bench: 12 ppg

Not sure JR is going to average 20 IMO

If JR starts he will average 20 ppg its inevitable he will get more shots but that also takes away from ai and melos shots so it would be pretty even if they did

All your numbers look good on paper. Though thinking about it on a game by game basis, I don't think there is any way 5 guys score 95 points per. My guess would be somewhere between 85-90. Which would still be very, very good.

Last years top starting units scoring per game.

Golden State 83.6
Phoenix 82.2
Denver 79.7
Orlando 79.6
L.A. Lakers 77.2

So we would be well above the top teams from last year.

haha, its AI and Melo, they can pretty much get 60 themselves
