How much longer is the window to win titles open for the BOSTON CELTICS?

they got 2 years, then salarie will get messed up rajan will think he is all star and KG will be satisfied with his career and think about retiring, plus allen/pierce will get injured alot in the next 2 years

09-10

they still have a shot in the next 2 years, but that's it, I think.

Next year they have a good shot since they are the defending champions. They could be even better now it will be their second year together. Depending on how they do next year I don't know what is going to happen the year after.

I am along the same line of thinking as RapsFan4Life, for many of the same reasons, but also because they way the league is right now it is so hard to repeat as a Champion let alone threepeat just ask the San Antonio Spurs. They have had a top team every year when they are defending the Championships and they haven't gone back to back either. Infact has anyone done it since the Lakers, I can't think of anyone.

2 more solid years

I think they may be able to squeeze it out until 2011 were they are legit title contenders. KG by then would be 35 and Pierce 33 and Ray Allen would be 36. They would be roughly the same age as MJ (35), Pippen (33) and Rodman (37) on their last championship. :)

This organization will struggle financially...
how many years does KG, Ray and Pierce each have on their contracts?

Dirty Dirk41
08-07-2008, 10:41 AM
he wasnt comparing Pierce to jordan. This team could be contenders for 5 more years. Ray Allen i believe will be gone in 2 years. as well as other contracts we have will be up in 2010. we will just use that cash to sign one of the MANY MANY Free agents that will be available. will we be fine

allen has 2 years, pierce has 3 and K.G has 4.

Trust me pal we'll be fine.

I said they'll be fine till the 2010-2011, and i ALMOST put 2011-2012. These guys are still all-stars, and will continue to be all-stars. They are not high-risk injury players, meaning they don't fly through the air, like Kobe, Lebron, Manu etc.

They play team defense, and everyone shares the wealth, and they dont over exert themselves in minutes. They will be contenders for 3-4 years still.

Well when KG is extremely old, and he has two years on his big fat contract where are you going to trade him to?
Or do you really think another team will want an Old PF, that has 45M left on his two years...?

I was just giving the ages of the Bulls players on their last title in comparison with how old the Celtics trio will be in 2011.

It depends on how this season goes for them...

Realistically I think they have a couple more years where they could win it but i don't think they will. The East has gotten alot stronger and the Rockets have too so they now will be contending for the title.

dude your ridiculous. extremely old?? were not going to have KG when hes 65 in a wheelchair. he didnt look old one bit this past season. he wont look old this upcoming season or in a few years. calm down.. hell be an allstar PF for the next 4 years

4 years?
that means when he is 36...
they will decline. i see maybe 1 more title in the next 3 years.
but a lessening chance every year.

i believe kgs goes down in pay after this year...

2 more years, theyre in the decline already. all three players arent as good as they used to be. allen used to be a highflyer, anyone remember those days? garnett used to dunk alot more, but he's getting old. pierce is being pierce, i cant really tell if he's on the decline. hes always played in a slow motion kind of way, so hes still up there.

They could probably win it all this year with what they have but they need to add more pieces to the team the next 2 years to have a great shot.

two more years of a realistic shot...

then..

Ray;s salary comes off the books. So we will have money to sign a younger star, so it all depends how Danny plays it out

bostncelts34
08-07-2008, 02:58 PM
Why do all you think pierce is old? hes 31 years old lol. He still has another 3-4 ALL STAR years left. Then a couple solid ones.

Yeah getting swept in the first round. He's doing great! Just like he was in Philly.

Just one more year,

Suns, Spurs and Mavs are worn our.

It woudl be the first final for Ming, T-mac, Bynum, C-Paul, Deron Williams, Boozer so they would have th experience by their side.

If they dont win this time, theyll never do it wiht that team.

struggle financially? With the Garden getting banged out every night? Methinks not.

Allen will fade or end up injured in the next two years.

Pierce will lose what foot speed he has in next years.

KG could probably go on for four more, but, either he retires, or the Celts deal him at the end to someplace for one more title run.

I'll take one more crown please.

kobe's time is running out.
And he had a great team put around him this last year and couldn't do it.
I think the Laker's have the most talent in the NBA but will fail again this year and kobe will bolt for Europe.

Frrrrank!!!
08-09-2008, 04:07 PM
I have their window open for two more years and ofcoarse its bc of age. After that I see them being just competitive with Rondo and Perk carring the load.

one more year because of age and pierces cockiness, he's gonna think he's too good and is gonna mess up chemistry over there and allen is gonna get lazier every year because he's probably gonna expect less of a load to carry with pierce wining the finals mvp

They have two more years before Ray cant shoot the 3 as well KG is not KG and They will be left with an Okay Paul Peirce and overall team.

But they would need the role players to be even good. If Rondo and Perkins improve then guys like Ray or Pierce don't have to be as great.

2 more years.

To many up and coming teams in the East that will throne them.

The most likely choices of this in no order:

Heat
76ers
Bulls
Hawks

All are up and coming teams that I think will have a chance to take over as the #1 seed in 2 years.
