How in the world is Jason Kidd and Baron Davis now better than Arenas?

Its simple, they both slaughtered Arenas in the poll. Arenas aint that great in my mind and others I guess. He never passes the ball and is a horrible decision maker. Not to mention he is the worst defensive pg in the league. He scores 30 but he is responsible for the other team scoring 40 of their points against him. Arenas to me doesnt belong in the top 10.

He only did that once in his career. The reason no one is voting for him to be above 8 is because he doesn't deserve it. He doesn't have the good intangibles a good point guard needs. He doesn't make his team better, he may even make them worst. I have said this before if you put Andre Miller or even Jose Calderon at PG for the Wizards I bet you they would be a better team.

He is just simply one of the most overrated players, and people at PSD are realizing that.

Shhh, we're secretly trying to motivate Agent 0 to do better next season by snubbing him. God knows he'll prolly read over this at least one time.

Everyone seems to hate Arenas because he likes shooting the ball..

I watch every single Wizards game, and he is not a bad decision maker, nor is his defense bad as you guys say it is...

Just because ESPN says it doesn't mean its true.

They call them true PG and shoot first PG because the PG is supposed to run the offense. He can't be running the offense if he's shooting.

And it's not hating on a player to say that he doesn't really fit the PG description. I think it was high school or early college years when Arenas' coach told him to play PG. He's not a natural PG at all, and should probably play SG. That's why I don't even consider him in the PG category. So I definitely wouldn't vote for him in the top 10.

gilbert arenas should not be next bc he really isnt a true point guard. he all offense thats it. in my mind to be top 10 point guards you got to do everything not just offense. all the pointguards listed above do evrything score guard defend and play important roles for theirs teams... the wizards did just as good w.o arenas last season hes a ball hog and doesnt do a great job of getting his teammates the ball for a POINTGUARD. he really isnt a true point guard so i wouldnt really put him high up on thie list

This forum is just loaded with Arenas haters. He is a much better basketball player in the game today than Billups, Kidd, Davis and Parker. Him 8 is a tragedy. His whole NBA Career hes been a PG. Hes made 3 allstar games as a PG. He will finish his career as a PG. No matter how many shots, or if he doesnt run the offense hes a PG. He averages 6 assists per game. Is that really bad?? Hes an ELITE scorer and fearless in crunch time. I think Arenas is a top 5 PG and he knows he is. But haters will hate. Not like this poll or list means **** anyways

I believe Gilbert is going to have a breakout season for the Wizards. I believe it says something about you as a player when a team is willing to let Baron go to retrieve Gilbert (although they lost).

To me from what I've seen in his interviews with the media and talks with other people he's had, he has shown a dedication to cleaning up his antics, making better shot selection, and playing better defense. He's said these things leading up to next season. And one thing I am 100% sure of and know about Arenas is that when he says something he does it and he backs it up.

Arenas is also one of the hardest workers in the NBA. Despite the antics, I've been to a lot of Wizards camps and read a lot about what coaches and teammates think of him. He is always first in the gym and last out. He's is a gym rat. Also, despite his quirky and weird personality, I have had the pleasure of meeting him. He is really a nice guy with a great personality. In fact, he enjoys talking to his fans. I know many people don't like him but I think all of that taken in, he is a top 5-10 PG in the league, true or not. He will prove it this year.

nice post.

Arenas, to me, is a top 5 PG. I hate all this talk about him not being a PG. Not every PG plays a certain way. There all different. Wizards shelled out 111 millions because they know how important he is and what he could do for another team had he left. Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Steve Nash are the only PG's i think are better than Arenas.

I'm wrong? Look at those stats again.. It says 28.5 not 29. You also called him a consistent 29ppg player, when he has only done it once (and in your mind twice in his career). Pretty sure that to be a consistent 29 you need to at least have done 4+ years. Really if the definition holds then it should be every year.

I dont get why you guys seem to think one class of PG is better than another, its not like championship teams havent been built off with shoot first PG's all the time. In fact when was the last time a true pass first PG ever led his team to the title? Does Billups qualify even though he won the MVP in large part due to his scoring ability.
