Okay, landry is worth 3 mil at the most. Morey should give landry 2.5 mil, if he rejects it offer him 3 mil. Landry was in his rookie season avarged 8 points and 5 rebounds in 16 mins, and in the playoffs played worse. There is a possiblty if someone else gives him how much he wants he'll beast over there, but thats basketball, coz his knees a probelm, there is a couple more players we could sign for MLE that would play better. Im thinking about J.R Smith or Ben Gordon, players we need off the bench. Barrys not gonna play 20 mins a night he'll play around 15 so he isnt exactly the best scorer off the bench.

If we could get Gordon, that would be awesome, but he wants like 5 year/ $60 million or 6 year/ $72 million, I don't want that kind of contract on our team, since we have a chance to make some big signings in 2010. He would be a great player to have though.

^^ we'd have a chance for MLE since he isnt happy at bulls!

Rockets have enough talent on the team now.

That would be awesome, we would probably have to do a sign and trade though, because Chicago want let him just walk away for nothing.

Let's say they signed him for full MLE and then we trade:
Novak - about 800,000
Head - about 1,950,000
Hayes - about 1,750,000
Harris - about 710,500
Total: about $5.2 million

Chicago trades:
Gordon - about $5.8 million
Aaron Gray - about 710,500 (using $917,473 Trade Exception from Kirk Snyder trade)
Total: about $5.8 million

I am not sure if that trade would work or if Gordon would take that kind of money, but maybe...

Houston gets: A legitimate 20 PT scorer off the bench. Also a young 7 footer in Gray.

Chicago gets: Young talent. Possibly a first rounder in 2010 OR Memphis' second rounder next year (which we got in draft day trade).

That would give us a lineup of:
Alston/Barry/Brooks
McGrady/Gordon
Artest/Battier
Scola/Dorsey
Yao/Mutumbo (hopefully signs with vet minimum)/Gray
IR1: Francis (Rotates with Brooks)
IR2: Leunen (Rotates with Dorsey)
IR3: Sign one more player.

OR

Houston trades:
Landry - about 5.8 million
Head - about 1,950,000
Hayes - about 1,750,000
Novak - about 800,000
Total: about $10.2 million

Chicago trades:
Gordon - 5 year/ $50 million (or 4 year/ $40 million, or 3 year/ $30 million, etc.) (About $10 million in trade)
Gray - about 710,500 (using $917,473 Trade Exception from Kirk Snyder trade)
Total: about $10 million

Chicago gets: Young talent.

Houston gets: Legitimate 20 PT scorer and young 7 footer.

Houston lineup:
Same as above, but we get to keep Harris to fill the roster.

I think the second trade is more fair. This trade gives Leunen a chance to play, and gives us a strong offensive and defensive bench, which means our starters can get a lot more rest.

Just something to think about...

Gordon won't sign long term for only the MLE, he'd rather take the qualifying offer from the Bulls and leave as an unrestricted FA. You can't sign and trade Gordon to the Rockets, because as soon as he signs his contract is a BYC, making his contract near untradeable for a team over the cap; as are the Rockets, and the Rockets wouldn't want gain a lot more money for Les to pay in luxury taxes.

If JR Smith would sign for the MLE, Denver/Cleveland would've signed him a month ago.

No other team has made him any offers yet. His agent is the biggest bullcrapper.

Gordon would score about 12ppg as the 4th or 5th option on the Rockets team which wouldn't justify his salary. No chance of that trade happening.

He would come off the bench, like he has in Chicago, and I agree he would only score about 12 -14 PPG, but I was saying he has the talent to get 20 PTS in any given game.

Also, I don't see this happening, but it is fun to think about...

Not a chance. We've done our big moves this off season. We have our team. Maybe something minor. I doubt Landry will be back though.
