4. Battier
5. Jackson

By best wing defender if you mean being able to stop somebody, it's still Bowen. Give it about a year and Artest will clearly be the better defender. Artest didn't do so well against other wing players this year. R-Jeff and Pierce lit him up a couple times each. Theus had him play a lot of power forward and defending a lot of power forwards too, which showed his versatility on defense. Big guys like Al Jefferson and Eddy Curry couldn't do a thing with him.

If Kobe gives his 100%, he can be one of the best defenders in the league. Often times though he would rather wander around the court picking loose balls or double teaming. As much as I love him, I'd take him off mine.

If I remember correctly AK47 (MR. I can't dribble, shoot, or catch) had his best games of the year against Battier. He and Artest definitely dont make any of the western teams scared of Houston.

If I also remember correctly....Shane Battier locked down Kobe Bryant on the last game of that 22 game win streak. Mark Jackson said it was the best defensive job he'd ever seen on Kobe.

He also said after the Finals that there is no other player in the league he would rather coach then Paul Pierce after seeing his play against Kobe on both ends of the floor. Would you agree with that also? So lets see he is one of the top five wing players that only shows up to play against the big names and lets players like AK beat him bad. That is exactly who I want on my list.

I don't know if you're serious, or telling a terrible joke. If LeBron maintains the level of defensive intensity he showed in the Boston series and Team USA exhibition games, he'll be mentioned soon. But he has to continue to do it in the league. Right now he's not even a top 15 wing defender in the league.

Artest (No explination.)
Kobe (No explination.)
Battier (No explination.)
AK47 (After how good he played LeBron, I have to have him over Bell...no contest.)
Marion (Bowen is too old/slow to be better than him.)

1. Bruce Bowen. He cheats, but he gets the job done.
2. Artest. Tough defender plus a little crazy. Not a lot of people would want to ******* with him
3. Prince. Tall with long hands(ask Reggie Miller), plus mobility.
4. Battier. He use his brain when he guards. He's not the fastest or the most athletic, but the smartest defender.
5. AK-47. Same as Prince. He kind of sucked last year though.

P.S. If you notice, the top two perimeter defenders, IMO, in the league are not even an option on offense and are simply starters for their great defense. They are great shooters, but do not have much of a load on them offensively. That is what makes what Artest and Kobe do even more appreciated and impressive. Kobe is a primary scorer and Artest is a great second option (K. Martin led the Kings in scoring). They have to carry the load offensively as well as be very good perimeter defenders.
