View Full Version : Red Sox acquire SS Josh Wilson

Red Sox acquired infielder Josh Wilson from the Pirates for a player to be named.
The Red Sox wanted some extra infield depth anyway, and now that Mike Lowell's hip is bothering him, the need became more urgent. Wilson hit .251/.291/.354 in 263 at-bats for the Rays last season. He was batting .276/.347/.396 for Triple-A Indianapolis this year. The Red Sox will send him to Pawtucket.

Yes, sadly, as Jack Wilson didn't play for Tampa last year nor Indianapolis this year. I wish we'd gotten Jack though.

Not really excited about this, but it's a consistent part of the Sox' strategy. They load up on MIF help in August and bring the guys up in September to give the regulars a rest whenever they can.

Ick. Never heard of him, but he sounds pretty bad. Don't think the trade really matters.
