Okafor signed for 6 years, 72 million dollars. He is 25 years old and averages a double double for his career (14.3ppg, 10.8rpg, 1.96bpg). Averaged 13.8ppg 10.7rpg and 1.7bpg last season.

Biedrins signed a 6 year deal worth guaranteed 54mil and up 62 mil with incentives. He is 22 years old his career averages are lower than Okafor: 7.6ppg, 7.4rpg, and 1.18bpg. However last season he averaged 10.5ppg, 9.8rpg, and 1.8bpg.

So based on the length of contract, money involved, age, potential and current ability who would you rather have? I'm not sure where I sit yet but thought I would throw it out to everyone to see.

Biedrins.

He's younger and he's already putting up 10/10.

Can't go wrong with that.

He can't block as well as Okafor though. Biedrins has a little jumpshot too.

I don't understand how Biedrins can be making so much moo-la. I understand he's a pretty solid rebounder, and a decent defender, but 54 million is just insane.

I'd personally take Okafor when healthy.

Emeka Okafor by far not even close. Okafor is dominating literally, he is just bugged by injuries, but when he is on, he is one of the best centers in the league. I haven't even heard of the other guy

Okafor by a large margin

Then how on Earth can you compare them? Okafor is very overated, he has slightly improved his play since entering the league, his D is very good though. Right now I would say Okafor is better now but Biedrins will deffinitely be the better pick up for the price.

Wow - not many of you have seen Biedrins play have you?

The kid is 22 - still learning how to be an adult - adding weight to his frame. Rebounds just as good as anybody in the league. Whoever said he has a jump shot has never seen him play - he has zero outside game - except for his newly aquired skill - jump hook - ala Kareem.

His defense has gotten better every year he has played while Okafer's D has plateaued. Okafer can't stay healthy while Biedrins has missed a whopping 6 games - 4 due to the flu.

Oh might I mention that Andris' FG% was 62.6%? Really? Okafor - 53.5%...

Please go look at every category and notice the ascension of Andris' stats each year he has been in the league and notice Okafor's have not changed one bit - he has not gotten better in anything - in fact he had a worse year statistically last year then the previous year...

Now tell who you'd want - a 22 year-old rising star? or a 25 year-old stud who's reached his potential?

Okafor is a beast when he is healthy
^oak has not showed his full potential because he gets injured to much, if you see Oak 100% then you get a rising star.

I agree. he's not worth 54mil.

Id go with Okafor because he can score and is a great defender. Not only can he block shot on defense, he can change shots as well. Even when he's out the game, he can force someone to put up a bad shot because they are thinking about Okafor. I dont think Biedris can do that.

this is why id take biendris over okafor. ANYDAY. Okafor is way overpayed and wont play a full season in his career. Biendris is still maturing and has lots of talent. He FG % is way up too. Please all you are saying Okafor but I just don't understand why people think he is that great. He is overpayed and has injuries.

Okafor man all day evryday. If the bobcats gave this guy the freaking ball he would be dominate. they dont give him that many touches to the ball.

Based on that statement I think everything you say that's basketball related should be totally disregarded:laugh:

Back to the subject. I'd much rather have Biedrins. He's much cheaper and he'll be scoring just as much as Okafor if not more by the time he's 25. He's already as good of a rebounder and shot blocker. He's also not injury prone. I still don't see what the big deal is with Okafor, I just don't think he's that good. Certainly not 72mill good.

Biedrins of course. The guy is a young, solid rising star. By the time he reaches 25 he'll be better than Okafor. And he'll still be playing...not on the bench nursing a boo-boo.
