The Twins and Tigers are both attempting to add the recently designated for assignment LaTroy Hawkins to their pen, according to the Star-Tribune. The Yankees might actually pick up a prospect for Hawkins, assuming that they're willing to cover most of the rest of his $3.75 million salary.

Yea, i don't get it. he was designated for assignment! its not like the yankees have a ton of great relief pitchers or anything. I don't really understand why we would want to add a guy like this to our pen. 41 innings, 41 hits, 26 ER, 5.71 ERA, WHIP of 1.439

Why would we have any interest in a 30 something RH reliver whose best days are behind him. Let alone kicking in a prospect. If he were on the waiver pile and would cost us nothing in terms of talent, I am not sure I would pick him up then either.
