If both states took the best players for a 12 team roster from the current teams in the state, who would win?

California: Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Warriors

Texas: Spurs, Rockets, Mavericks

My California Team
PG - Baron Davis
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - Ron Artest
PF - Pau Gasol
C - Andrew Bynum
6. Kevin Martin
7. Corey Maggette
8. Marcus Camby
9. Stephen Jackson
10. Beno Udrih
11. Lamar Odom
12. Monta Ellis

My Texas Team
PG - Jason Kidd
SG - Tracy McGrady
SF - Dirk Nowitzki (PF, yes, but too good for bench)
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Yao Ming
6. Tony Parker
7. Josh Howard
8. Manu Ginoboli
9. Shane Battier
10. Rafer Alston
11. Bruce Bowen
12. Brandon Bass

Dwight + Wade :speechless:

Florida obviously doesn't hold a candle to Cali and Texas...who have 3 teams each.

Howard
Beasley
Marion
Wade
Nelson

Turkoglu
Lewis
Haslem
Mourning
Pietrus
Chalmers
Lee

We'd have to have a 3rd team thrown in....like ATL, WAS or something.

Are you guys crazy?? Cali would Dominate and I live in TX. But being honest.

Looking at the matchups

Baron would crap(use the other word)on Kidd, way too athletic

Kobe would crap on T-Mac, Macs eyes get a little droopier every year hense his shooting percentage.

Artest would CRAP on Dirk, Dirk couldnt guard Artest but Artest could guard him!!

Gasol and Timmy, advantage Timmy

Yao and Bynum, advantage Yao

Bench players- Advantage Cali with Kevin Martin, Elis, Camby, B Miller, Maggeti Its safe to say Cali's bench would crap on Texas

OaklandsFinest

Cali would run texas to death, and they'd win. Texas' unit would be to big and slow. But I would take the Florida team over both.

Nelson
Wade
Marion
Beasley
Howard

Hahah Florida only has 1 player in 1 position that is better than Cali and its Howard.

Nelson - Baron advantage Baron
Wade - Kobe advantage Kobe
MArion - Artest advantage Artest
Beasly - Gasol advantage Gasol
Howard - Bynum advantage Howard

Beasly is unproven in the NBA so dont tell me he's better than Gasol maybe in the future but right now not likely. thats like saying Lebron was better than Kobe his rookie season

It is pretty even.

J Kidd - Baron Davis - Davis would win this match up, hes the more atheletic and more quicker player...look what happened when kidd faced off with cp3

KB24 - Tmac - There no comparison KB24 wins it

Artest - Dirk - Dirk would probably win this match up, but artest will make it a living hell for him, since he is one of the best defenders out there.

Gasol - Duncan - Duncan wins this, but Gasol may do a little damage, as we saw from the WCF this year

Yao - Bynum - Yao wins this, but if Bynum would be playing the way he was the 1st half of the season, bynum would take this.

Bench is pretty even, with a slightly edge to Cali....

It is pretty even to me.

But i would say Cali would win lol

Whats funny is that the consensus is Texas would take it... and Texas has one less team than California.

Houston
Dallas
San Antonio

vs

LA Clippers
LA Lakers
Sacramento Kings
Golden State Warriors

So even with that extra team, Texas would prevail.

Texas

All three texas teams made the playoffs were only one cali team did. Baron is better then kidd but I would take the kidd/parker combo over baron. Kobe wins #2 hands down but dirk would destroy artest, Duncan is the best PF in the league and would kill Gasol, and what has Bynum even done to make this list. He has played half a season and would be no match for the taller more athletic Yao.

Brandon Bass deserves to be in there, its Rafer Alston that should be replaced by Terry.

The Texas Lineup should be...

Tony Parker
Tracy McGrady
Dirk Nowitzki
Tim Duncan
Yao Ming

Manu Ginobili
Josh Howard
Jason Kidd
Jason Terry
Brandon Bass
Bruce Bowen
Shane Battier

The California Lineup Should be...

Baron Davis
Kobe Bryant
Ron Artest
Pau Gasol
Chris Kaman

Stephen Jackson
Corey Maggette
Monta Ellis
Lamar Odom
Kevin Martin
Marcus Camby
Andris Biedrins

Maybe if this Laker homer would actually balance out the rosters it'd be more interesting. To those saying Kidd would be too slow for Davis, your right. But Texas would start Parker because he's better RIGHT NOW than Kidd, also he's fast enough to keep up with Davis. Also, who said Duncan doesn't own on people?! LOL, he's a 4 time champ! Your telling me all that was Parker and Ginobili? I don't think so... He'd pound Gasol inside, most likely the Cali team would matchup Gasol on Nowitzki since their both ******* and either have Artest/Camby playing Duncan while Kaman or Bynum plays Yao...

Also, Bynum starting based on 13pt. 10rbd. year? How about the reigning Defensive MVP Camby?! He'd certainly start over him...

I think it'd be a better matchup with:

Davis - Parker
Kobe - McGrady
Artest - Nowitzki
Gasol - Duncan
Camby - Yao

That is a great matchup..... I still say Texas though. And its not cuz Im from TX, but because any team that visits Texas probably isnt expecting the best when facing any of our teams. Cali will rebound though.

My California Roster
PG: Baron/Ellis/D-Fish
SG: Kobe/Kevin Martin
SF: Artest/SJax/Maggette
PF: Pau/Harrinton/Lamar
C: Camby/Bynum/Kaman/Biedrins

My Texas Roster
PG: Parker/Kidd/Rafer
SG: Tmac/Manu/Terry
SF: Dirk/Howard/Battier/Bowen
PF: Duncan/Bass
C: Yao/Mutumbo/Dampier

I honestly don't know who would win, but there's my 15 man roster. California is just so deep. So deep.

But I think we're forgetting the New York Roster. (Or soon to be New York, but hell Jersey is close enough as it is)
PG:Harris
SG: Vince
SF: Yi
PF: Randolph
C: Curry

That lineup is unstoppable.

Remmni
07-28-2008, 05:50 PM

Oh and I'd take the Baron/ Ellis combo over any Kidd/Parker combo. Why do you say we would start TP. TP couldnt defend a high schooler neither could Kidd. TP against Baron no contest. Kidd vs. Baron no contest. Ellis vs either of them no contest.

PG- goes to CALI Baron/Ellis combo over Kidd/TP
SG- CALI - Kobe/MArtin combo over Tmac/Ginobli
SF-CALI - Artest/Jackson combo over Howard/ Battier
PF-TEXAS- Duncan/Dirk combo over Pao/odum
C-Equal- Yao/Bass combo vs Camby/Bynum/Miller/Kaman combo

So easily you can see who would win not to mention the depth alone at every position. Cali would win 103-92
9 out of 10 times

Hey Remmni, no reason to post 4 different post.

Especially when you say dumb stuff like Baron Davis and Monta Ellis are better at the PG spot than Tony Parker and Jason Kidd and that Ron Artest would shut down Dirk when he has never done it before.

I also like how in your comparison you move Dirk to backup PF to make it appear that Cali has the edge at SF. Cheater.

I know you want that sig really bad, but simmer down with the post whoring.

LOL thanks for the laugh! I love when Lakers fans overrate the hell out of Bynum, now even to the point where they think he can match up with the best center in the NBA.

With that said, Texas dominates. They have a godly frontcourt with Yao and Duncan, and they have DEFENSE, which always prevails over offense.

That would be a sweet game.........I'm gonna go with Cal for a couple reasons....one of them is Kobe Bryant....the only guy that has a chance at literally stopping him is Ron Artest who happens to be on the California team as well..so I think they make a deadly combo.

Davis>Kidd
Bryant>McGrady
Artest=Nowitzki (taking Artests defense into consideration i believe they are =)
Gasol<Duncan
Bynum<Yao

So pretty equal, but I think i give the edge to Cal because of the Artest/Kobe combo.

And as far as the bench goes i give an edge to the Texas team mainly for the Mavericks players

If you started the best PG in the West then the West have the PG edge. I am a Mavericks fan, but Tony Parker is clearly the better player. Parker is a much better player than Baron Davis. He isnt nearly as flashy but consistently he puts up All Star numbers on great %'s.

Dirk and Artest are equal? Yeah seeing that an offer of Brandon Bass and Jerry Stackhouse for Artest was considered for Artest... how do you think that offer would look if it was sent to the Mavs for Dirk Nowitzki?

Dirk is a much better player than Ron Artest and all the defense in the world from Artest doesnt change the fact Dirks got 5 inches on him and would just post him up or bust jumpers on him all day just like he does with Bruce Bowen.

Texas have 4 of the 5 positions and the better bench. Its clear who has the better team. Which is even funnier because Texas only has 3 teams and Cali has 4.

Yeah Parker is better than Davis in an overall pointguard way but that wasn't lineup that the original poster put up.....he put Parker as a sub and Kidd as the starter so thats how i judged them. O yeah, and just because the offer of Bass and Stackhouse for Artest was put up, it doesn't mean Artest isn't as good as Nowitzki, it only means the Mavs front office are complete retards......if the game in question was a playoff game the Cal team wouldn't need Artest to shut down Nowitzki, Dirk would just choke on **** all by himself. :smoking:

The question was who would have the better team, and he just gave his opinion on what the best lineups would be. Its not like because thats the lineup he would use, that it has to stay that way.

Even if Kidd did start, a Kidd/Parker duo at the point is much better than a Davis/Ellis duo at the point.

Another offer for Artest that Sacramento actually wanted to do was Linas Kleiza and Eduardo Najera for Artest? I suppose Denver's front office are retards? Or actually it would make Sacramento the retards since they are the one that wanted to do this deal, it was DENVER who pulled out.

You are wrong. It was the Nuggets who pulled out of the Kleiza/Najera for Artest deal. They deceided they didnt want to risk adding Artest and that Kleiza was too much to give up. That says quite a bit about Artest.

You are entitled to your opinion yes, but there are also people that have the opinion that the Oakland Raiders are sleeper Super Bowl picks or that the Knicks are only a piece or two away from contending. So yes, you are entitled to your opinion, but your opinion is wrong. Dirk Nowitzki is clearly a better player than Ron Artest. Dirk has the ability to take over a game, Artest can not do that.

Wow all around player huh??? Attitude towards the game has something to do with that right. Artest is a trouble maker and if u put him at PF or SF he's not going to be one of the best, not even top ten. Dirk has a better shot, and it doesn't matter whos faster because Dirk will spray him even with his hand in his face. In his prime Dirk earned MVP and all Artest gets is NBA First Team Devense.

So yes, you are entitled to your opinion, but your opinion is wrong. Dirk Nowitzki is clearly a better player than Ron Artest. Dirk has the ability to take over a game, Artest can not do that.

dirk better than artest!

You always say the stupidest stuff possible, I swear. Either you just wanna annoy people or you are just that dumb. Probably a combination of both.

Texas without a doubt. Only one team from California made it to the playoffs last season, and Texas had all three of there's. Easily Texas.

I would take the Texas roster. They're stronger from top to bottom on defense.

Kidd has actually had quite a bit of success playing against Davis. Kidd is one of the few PG's in the league that is strong enough to push Davis around in the paint. Davis will step outside and hit jumpers however it seemed easy for Kidd to get in his head and make Davis play his game. Kidd can guard Beno

I hate texas
and I hate Cali
but the Texas team is by a long shot better then the Cali team

Think about it..honestly if you think the Caliteams are better you need to rethink your life..heck the Spurs alone could take the All-Cali team. It's more then about what team could put up the most points, but the team that can stop you with defense and the Texas teams are WAY WAY WAY better defensivly then the Cali team.

I still don't like texas. lol

Man, I'm from Toronto and I know that Texas would demolish the Cali team. Most of the Lakers fans have terrible arguments like "wtf no go cali". BB41, you actually make sense and have good reasoning. Pretty Bird is just dumb, don't listen to him. His four word responses make me laugh.
