I hope this is true... big relief if it is.

Biedrins isn't worth 10 million a year but I'm glad that we locked him up long term (if this is true)

Edit- I just heard on ESPN that it is a 5 year 63 million dollar contract. No way he should be making more than Monta.

Yea it's 6 years 63 mill. Five years are guaranteed and then Dre has a player option for the 6th. While it is a lot of money, I love the stability that we'll see over the next several years with Buke, Monta and Biedrins all locked up for 3 or more years. This is a million times better than when Mullin locked up Richardson, Murphy and Dunleavy because we all knew then that J-Rich would be the only one worth the money. I think Monta and Biedrins are both worth it and the Warriors will be a factor in the West after all these old teams fall from glory.

It is totally true that the warriors signed Andris to a 6yr/63 million dollar contract on July 27, 2008

http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm

this is a great signing. Andris will only get better, and he is 22 or 23 and is a double double guy 10pts/10 reb. 10 1/2 million a year is a lot of money, but when you are a young player and the best frontcourt player on a team, the warriors were kinda stuck paying this. i think that andris could be a 20pts/ 10-12 reb/1.5-2 blocks a game player. DEFINETLY a great signing and Andris will be sold for the Warriors.:clap::clap::clap::clap:

I doubt that will happen again..
They have proven to be wayyy better than those too and the dubs have been winning.. Not like when murphy and dunleavy were here..

Thank God, losing him would be a massive blow to our team. Say what you will about Biedrins, but there are very few double double average guys in the NBA, especially ones as agile as Biedrins who can fit into our system.

its funny though.. Laker fans already hating saying we overpaid for a below average center.... guess they dont look at stats he nearly averaged a double double at 22 and shot 62 % from the field.

Bynum plays 20 games and you know the lakers are going to have to give him a max contract..

monta is a stud and will continue to be. bedrins is an up and coming center who will be double double bedrins.
dunleavy and murphy were average and usable players but suck compared to what monta and bedrins are and will continue to due.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LAKERS and CLIPPERS. they are just hating on the talent that the warriors have. in 2-3 years the lakers and Clippers will be garbage and we will dominate the pacific division and will be top 3 or 4 in the west.

if we have the same team without Biedrins, we would be a lottery team for sure.

Thatruth32
07-27-2008, 08:30 PM
you have to like the future/ present of this team compared to what us warrior fans have been used to all over the years... we know have our 2 young studs locked up for at least 5 more yrs in each with monta and andris... along with some vetran presence in correy for the same 5 yrs...

we also have maybe our future of the team in randolph to go along with other young talent with marco and BW and marcus and ronny hendrix... etc...

i would love to make playoffs i hope we can but even if we dont i will still be excited this whole season.. cant wait for hoops...

They are the most irresponsible news gathering organization in the world. They never make sure they get it right. They just want breaking news, no matter how accurate.

Biedrins will be worth every penny, just like Ellis.

sick now we have biedris, ellis, buke, randolph, hendrix, turiaf, maggette locked up for a good 3 seasons at least, and it leaves us room to sign a big name come 2010,2011.
i would love to see us sign bosh or wade,
what if we threw out the lineup of
ellis
wade
buke
wright/turiaf
biedris

Not to be pessimistic about this signing but Murphy also averaged a double double when we signed him to his ludicrous contract. Hopefully the Dubs will continue playing nelli ball after nelli retires. Otherwise i think this signing might be another murphy.

Unlike Biedrins though, Murphy was unathletic and terrible on defense. And he was a few years older as well.

For the next 5 Years we will have 30$ Million Commited to 3 non-Superstars, (yet). Thats 50% of the payroll with a 60 Million Salary Cap, unless we go over. I really hope those 3 pan out, if not we may be strapped financially especially since we may have to re-sign AR, BW, and Marco in the future.

Harrington and Jackson's contacts will be over by 2010, as well as other role players (Perovic, Watson, and Williams). By the time our young/role players are ready for a contract, we will know if any are good enough for one. If not, we have all that cap space for someone in 2010. Hopefully by then, we will be a top team in the league and one of the potential superstars (ie Bosh or Wade) will consider us as a destination. Our future is looking real good y'all!!!

I'll say there's even less guys in the NBA who can average the double-double in *27* minutes per game. This shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as the Foyle / Murph signings.

PS: Contrary to popular believe, Dunleavy *is* actually worth his contract. Dunleavy's Stats (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3601)

Stat wise yes... But if we measure heart and testicular fortitude, Jackson brings way more. To me that's what matters on a team.

Jackson > Dunleavy

hey I was listening to fitz and Brooks during lunch, and it said the beidrins contract is 6 years 54 million but its loaded with incentives that could make it up to 63 million. Did anybody else hear this... supposedly bob fitzgerald cleared it up.

this sounds a lot more reasonable to me. I was thinking 6 years at 42 million or something though since beidrins is kind of one dimensional, and we will never be able to put the ball in his hands with 12 seconds to go and have him win the game for us.

Beidrins had a huge bargaining chip though seeing as he was the only true center ont he roster. and personally Im not even sure hes a true center.
