Lakers. Boston doesn't have the drive to win as many games anymore. I think they figured that reg. season wins don't really matter. Meanwhile, the Lakers, who have been beaten pretty badly in the Finals, will try to prove to everybody that they are the better team, and do so by trying to win as many games in the regular season. I just hope they don't fall and lose like the Dallas Mavericks.

I think it has to be an Eastern team. I think this is the year where LeBron takes over. Their front office is trying harder than anyone except Maybe the Sonics or Blazers(they just need to evaluate talent better).

everyone votes lakers. what a surprise. everyone just jumping on. I still go with The hornets.
Paul-Great
Sg-not sure
Peje- Very good 15 points or greater
West- could be a top 5 PF
Chander- averages a Double Double and is a great Defender

Dont have drive??? Reg season wins dont matter??? Most importantly i think they realized you win the MOST regular season games and you get HOME COURTthroughout the playoffs and in the Finals if you get there. TRUST ME. this team is going to want to win even more games. K.G is INTENSE 24/7 365. I Gotta go with BOSTON...dominating team in a weak conference.. All this talk about the WEST getting even better than last year and you people think L.Awill win the most games...haha..this board is sooooo PRO lakers

My dark horse pick is the 76ers.

I think Utah will have the best record. Deron is already amazing! We have the not the star but deepest SG spot with Brewer, Korver and CJ Miles... AK-47 can provide defense at SF, Harpring is a tough guy and Almond could provide offense should one of them get injured. Boozer and Millsap at PF and Memo and Koufos at Center... Utah also acquired a defensive Point guard Brevin Knight... I don't think Utah is done swapping. I think they will look into dumping AK-47's contract.

PG. Deron Williams/Brevin Knight/Ronnie Price
SG. Ronnie Brewer/Kyle Korver/CJ Miles
SF. Andrei Kirilenko/Morris Almond/Matt Harpring
PF. Carlos Boozer/Paul Millsap
C. Memo/Koufos.

Plus this is Jerry Sloan's last year of coaching I'd imagine. They're gonna put their all into this season. My prediction for Utah is 64-18

Celtics (59-23)
New Orleans (58-24)
LAL (57-25)
Detroit (55-27)
San Antonio ( 54-28)
Houston (53-29)

My predictions. I don't think we have a bunch of teams winning so many games out west this year, with Portland, Denver, Minnesota, GS, and Sacramento being better than last year.

Its not jumping on. Its common sense. Once they got Pau they were pretty much unbeatable in the west.

Boston is probably the best pick, they should run through the east. But if the lakers won the west last season, with Pau only having played half the season and Pau and Bynum never playing together, they should roll over the west next year.

1. Boston
2. LA
3. Det
4. NO

PS there are a ton of Homers on this site. People just pick there team every time.

I mean Houston, Utah, cmon. These teams have had basically the same players over the last couple of seasons, their fans are dumb enough to think they are just all of a sudden going to get that much better without picking up any major free agents.

And Cleveland, they had trouble going .500 for most of the year.

Which ever team that wins the East, whether that be Boston playing again at an amazing skill level with its Big-3, or Philly, clicking amazingly with its new core and overall starting lineup.
Laker fans can make a good case that they can win the west (which I'm sorry, no matter HOW hardcore you are, you can't say 100% that any team will for sure win the Western Conference..). However, you're in the freaking Western Conference. I wouldn't be surprised if this year a team wins another 48 or 50 games and doesn't make the playoffs... The East? The top 1-2 teams will bully the rest of their conference cause they have crappy teams that only 1-2 nice players and the rest aren't that good (cause they're all waiting for 2010; Knicks, Nets, etc)

The Lakers are going to win at least 60 games, guaranteed, and it won't be close.

The Lakers were 26-4 with Pau Gasol and they had no Bynum. The lakers basically had an 87 winning percentage, which is absolutely ridiculous without a true center and with their current center playing out of position. Common sense says Lakers by just looking at last years results in the regular season WITHOUT a guy who was giving a consistent 14 and 11. They wouldn't need to rely on Bynum, but even Lakers haters would have to admit that he is a very nice addition to a team that already made it to the Finals and had the best record in their conference. Also, stop saying Laker fans are having too high of expectations...They are only asking him to do what he did last year and gradually improve as the season goes along and if he does that then the Lakers are far and away the best team...If he does not do that then the Lakers are still great proven by their Finals berth last year without him and their defense WILL be improved this year because they will actually have training camp to work together on defensive schemes and training camp is where everybody gets together on that and the Lakers couldn't do that because Pau was a mid-season aquisition.

BTW, Boston fans stop saying people only vote for Lakers because they are bias. The fact that they had such an amazing record with Pau Gasol would make any person with common sense want to vote for the Lakers.
