What do you think the Sixers would realistically be this season after aquiring Brand? They currently have a lineup consisting of

Andre Miller at point
Andre Iguodala at the 2
Thad Young at the 3
Elton Brand at the 4
Sam Dalembert at the 5..

Where do you think this would take them? If they made the playoffs what seed would they be and how far would they go?

Just wanted some input from people out of Philly.

I see them being the 3 seed out of the east. Winning the first round, We'll have to see how it plays out after that.
It may take some time for the team to gel with Brand.

i agree at least top 4 , win a round, maybe two. but detroit , and boston will be tough foes. Even the atlantic division will be a struggle, with toronto, NJ, boston...it will be a battle but sixers will improve im saying 48-34

Boston would beat them however they will be in the same boat with Cleveland, Orlando, Toronto and Detroit. All of which can beat one another.

I think Boston is the 1 seed

then the 2-6 seeds are pretty open with Philly,Detroit,Toronto,Orlando and Clevland.

Then the 7-10 are between Milwaukee,Miami,Chicago,Atlanta

53 wins.

2 or 3 seed pending upon the further development of Dwight Howard. people that say 4 or below are just not good. we are very good and could very well be the eastern conference champs. i dont wana hear any crap about the Pistons. they are done. if they do finish better than us its because theyre a regular season team. its the Celtics and the Magic we have to fear. even tho if the raptors get healthy around playoff time they might be scary. but were really good and its gona be a great year.

The Atlantic Division teams look poised to do damage to each other this season, there's 3 pretty solid teams in there right now. My prediction is that the 4 and 5 seeds will go to Toronto and Philly, I'm just not sure who will be where. While everyone has made such a big deal about Brand landing in Philly, should O'Neal remain healthy that's a huge improvement to Toronto as well. I see the Sixers and Raps battling it out in the 1st round playoffs, will have to wait and see how they look during the regular season to pick who wins that series.

I feel that both of these teams could finish ahead of one of the division winners anyways, but it may not happen with the Atlantic teams taking chunks out of each other.

What will they be?

Serious playoff contenders. If Brand is to come back and play like he did before injury himself, the 76ers might even be able to compete for a title.

Being realistic: 2-6 seed

I can't see them going past the 6, I just can't see it at all, unless Brand gets injured.

I see them going to the 4th seed, with the Celtics, Pistons, and Magic ahead of them.

I see them going past the 1st round, and after that anything can happen.

Where do I have them though? C's and 6ers facing off in the ECF with the C's winning in 6

Andre Miller will probably have a career season with all the options he'll have to dish off to. Their floor spacing will just be fantastic, I bet.

They're gonna be really damn good.

I think a lot of you are going to be disappointed. I say the 6ers will be competing for the last 3 seeds. They aren't going to beat out Boston, Detroit, Orlando, Cleveland, or Washington if they're healthy. 6, 7, and 8 is going to be battled out between Philadelphia, Miami, Chicago, and Toronto. Whatever though, the Eastern conference is like the D-league compared to the West.

The Celtics are the only team capable of winning the championship in the East.

And yes I'm still bitter, but that doesn't affect what i said, I still feel Philadelphia is going to be in the bottom half of the conference.

If they can get a good perimeter shooter and if Andrew Miller is still the same guy we saw last season then this team will go to the ECF
2 seed

So what your saying is that us signing Brand, a perennial allstar, a guy that will give you ATLEAST 20/10 a night, isn't going to help us improve?!

I smell some jealousy.

Brand is past his prime and coming off of a huge injury. He's still a great player and an excellent pick up for your team, but I just don't see Philadelphia being that good. Sorry guys

News flash: He played the final 8 games of last season, so it's not like he's coming in and hasn't played since the injury.
Considering Brand is only 29 years old, how is he out of his prime?

I could understand if he was 32 or something, but he just turned 29 a few months ago I believe too.

it will be a battle between the sixers and celtics mainly for the division title. i'm not sure what lineup detroit will put out there opening night, but i can see the sixers being 1 or 2. they already gave the pistons some trouble this past playoffs, adding a post threat in brand sincerely boosts their team.

I'm done justifying my opinion. Lets just see how the sixers do next season. I have a nice big Humble Pie baking in the oven for anyone who wants a slice in a few months.

There is no way a 50 win team in the east is the 2nd seed. Orlando was the 3rd seed last year with 52 wins.

If the Sixers get 50 wins they will be a 4 or 5 seed.
