Well if Luc Longly was still playing it would be an easy answer. Based on recent 3 point contest you can't dispute Kapono, but the best STAR shooter Ray Allen, and Micheal Redd or even Joe Johnson has a hell of a release. Dirk has an ugly *** shot but he seems to work! I think I will stick with Ray Allen though as the best pure shooter in the league right now.

michael redd and rip hamilton are also very good shooters

First names that came to my mind were Kapono and Allen. Allen has kept the dominant shooting stroke for so long and Kapono has topped the league in percentages the past two years plus took the 3pt competition both years. Allen takes more shots though.

I think this year playing off Jermaine and Bosh, kopono will win hands down...watch out for a break out season for Kopono and the Raps.

Kapono and Korver both have a beautiful shot. Peja has that odd, somewhat sling-shot, delivery but he is still a wonderful spot-up shooter. Ray Allen is a great shooter, but as much as people say he is a pure shooter, I see him more as a scorer. He can be streaky at times and he drives to the hoop better than most give him credit. Also, Kobe Brynt, arguably the most sound jumper in the game, but he is a scorer not a spot-up man. So at the end of the day I say: #3 – Kapono, #2 Korver, and #1 (my surprise opinion) Rashard Lewis. Lewis may also get lumped into the title of scorer, however, I watched him play a ton last year. Before last season I pretty much just saw him on Sportscenter and figured he was a scoring guy only, but after watching him play he gets the majority of his points with a flawless jump shot

i am serious he has shot at least 40% from the 3 and from the field for the past 4 seasons. he has also hit at least 130 shots from range in each of those seasns as well. that is not shabby for a shooters.

BEN GORDON? ARE YOU KIDDING?

:faint:

Gordan imo is better than Kapono. Kapono only hit 57 threes on 48% shooting last season. Gordon hit 142 threes on 41% shooting last season. i could shoot 1 three and make it to have a 100% shooting percentage while someone could make 200 threes on 38% shooting and percentage wise i would look better. in order to be considered a good shooter a player must make a good amount of shots while maintaining a high percentage. hell Gordon made more threes than Kapono attempted

I was about to question this HUGE homer pick... but, I looked up his numbers. 46% FG and 40% 3's. No doubt that he is NOT the best shooter, but, hell, he's much better than I would have guessed.

I agree, but when somebody says best shooter i kind of try to relate it to who would totally rock at a gome of P.I.G. haha, Kapono and Korver would be mvp of a P.I.G league.

For my money there is no body I'd rather watch shoot then Tracy McGrady. He has a pull up that will make you change your religion. And when he's hot NO ONE scores as much as quickly as he does. A better outside shooter then Kobe.

He is a .419% shooter from the floor... so yeah that pull up looks real nice as it clanks off the back rim.

This guy isn't the best shooter in the NBA but I thought he was worth mentioning...

Jason Richardson. He shot 41% from the 3 point line and made 243 3 pointers last season, which is an NBA record.

woah, never knew that. so he hit like 3 three-pointers per game, at 41%. not bad.

Jason Kapono is the best catch and shooter, if given some space.
Ray Allen is the best shooter, if the shot is challenged.
Peja Stojakovic is another VERY good shooter from long range. he won't miss when left open.
Rip Hamilton is the best mid-range shooter, but he's good long range too. he has a very quick release, and is good at getting himself some space. that's the reason people think he's a midrange shooter.
Michael Redd is also a very good overall shooter.
Kobe Bryant is the best shooter when completely smothered by defense.
Sasha Vujacic is a very good shooter when left open, but rubbish when challenged.
Boob gibson is a good shooter too, I think. I remember he had that huge game in the playoffs last season.
