alright, there have been some interesting ex-NBA player signings this offseason in Europe:
Garbajosa, Delfino, JC Navarro, Brezec, Nachbar and most recently Josh Childress

its funny, for some reason I thought it was more (if I am missing anyone, please tell me)

the actual signing arent nearly as absurd as some of the rumors that were going around...

I think this would be an interesting thing to discuss

so please

I really think losing Juan Carlos Navarro was a big loss.

I hope he'll be back in the NBA soon

Yeah, there have been some pretty intriguing signings in Europe. I was pretty surprised with some of the guys that left the NBA.

The Grizzlies didn't "lose" him, he jumped ship. Dirty bastard! I was so pissed at the time, but I'm OK with it now Mayo is there. I'm too lazy to look up his contract, but I don't know how he can just up and leave like that. If that's the case, surely the Grizz still own his NBA rights.

We are experiencing the same thing with our football (rugby league) over here. In the begining it was just older players who couldn't cut it any more, but now they are going after our top players too. Because we can't match the huge offers from over there. I hope it doesn't become a major problem for the nba.

couple mediocre foreign players, and an OK josh childress.
its an "exodus"

many more better players go TO the NBA from overseas.

true, its not really an exodus... but if it makes people post, why not title it as such. it made you post ;)

When Josh Childress spurned a multi-million dollar offer from the Atlanta Hawks to sign with a Greek team in late July, he began a summer exodus of NBA players crossing the Atlantic. While all eyes are currently on Beijing, where 42 NBA players are suiting up for 10 of the 12 Olympic teams, NBA fans and officials can't ignore the emerging European market......

Theo Ratliff signed with the sixers... it got decent comments like "good move" and "our team should have gotten him".

I say that IF he would have signed with a European team, no one would have cared

I'm surprised Ratliff didn't sign with a team overseas. He was decent in his "garbage time" minutes with the Pistons, and he should have been able to get a decent paycheck with some team overseas.

Seriously, that's just being pedantic. You still lost him, the NBA still lost him because he no longer plays in the NBA.

JC Navarro is a chucker. He showed nothing but inconsistency in his one year in the NBA.

He came to play with Gasol. Once he was traded away & he realized how bad his team was, he left once he hit the open market. That is fair game.

The Grizz do still own his rights, if he ever were to want to return to the NBA.
