the tigers are not out of this yet, i think we can all agree on that correct. but the one thing that is holding us back is another decent starter. so i was thinking with Joyce's recent success showing that he can hit for power and contact, is relatively clutch (remember the CLE game in the 7th), and has great potential, we trade Marcus Thames to a team like the mets for Oliver Perez. Thames is that big corner outfield bat they are looking for, and OP is that pitcher we are looking for that has had success and is great in big-time games (buster olney on his start today against the phils). this trade would help both teams IMO and is something that i think DD and the front office should look at, and i do think that they will look at it. just a feeling.

Thoughts???

Were definately not going to trade Thames even with Joyce playing so well. Thames is way to valuable to our stretch run and cant afford to loose him especially with sheff's inconsistancy. I do like Oliver Perez though if we could get him somehow hes not too shabby. I rather have him then A.J. Burnett if I had the choice. The Mets won't trade him though most likely because their in a battle themselves.

dude, no matter how much we "need" thames, i don't see the Mets trading away a starting pitcher. they are struggling for SP as it is, and they're not going to get rid of OP. thats just stupid.

The only reason I say that is because of Burnett's health issues I just hope he would stay healthy. We won't be able to get Perez anyways the Mets will not trade him

Perez is a harder throwing version of Robertson... way to inconsistant, and you never know what you are going to get...

yea. but he does have a FANTASTIC upside. whilst nate has a decent upside. plus, like i said, buster olney said that o-per is always very good in big-time games. then again, he doesn't show up against the teams he should dominate olney continued to say.
