View Full Version : Posey Will Be 6th Man

Hornets coach Byron Scott said on Wednesday that he will likely use James Posey as the team's sixth-man, though things can always change during the season.
Posey thrived in a reserve role for the Celtics last season, something current starter Morris Peterson might not be able to duplicate. Then again, Peterson might not last for long in the starting lineup unless he elevates his game -- last season he averaged career-lows in points (8.0), rebounds (2.7) and steals (0.6), with 41% shooting and less than one assist per game. It's no wonder the Hornets splurged to get Posey.

This is the best role for Posey, IMO. Although I am sure they wish that they had a better option than Mo Pete at SG. With that being said, last eyar was Mo Pete's worst season in the NBA, so maybe he will bounce back with a solid year in 08-09, possibly averaging closer to 12 ppg. He needs to start attacking on offense more often, not just settling for 3 pointers.

I like Posey a lot more as 6th man than starter...

That being said, if Mo Pete really struggles again we might have to make a change

Great to have come of the bench as he did for the Celts. :D

Posey has 2 rings as well. Maybe he will bring some good luck and championship charm to our Hornets. :D
