From Roto:

Alfonso Soriano (hand) is scheduled to come off the disabled list Wednesday.

Soriano has been out since breaking his hand on June 11. He's gone 1-for-5 with a walk in two minor league rehab games, but the Cubs moved him return timetable up one day anyway. He'll resume starting in left field, likely pushing Mark DeRosa back into the mix at second base.

It's time for Soriano to step up and be a Cub. It wouldn't hurt to earn some of that contract. If he rights the Cubs offense, us Cubs fans will feed his ego, which seems like all he wants. We're under .500 without him, anybody that said we're a better team without Soriano is nuts. What do you all think???

As good as Fonty has been vs RHP, I'm glad to get DeRo back in at 2B daily and Soriano back to LF.

Soriano > Fonty

Soriano > Fonty
But Fonty > DeRo. He is our hottest hitter right now and I would hate to take AB's away from him while he is swinging the bat good.

You couldn't have said it better there so much better with Fonzie, there offense was rolling with him in the lineup especially in late innings never felt we were out of any game

I expect a 4-4, 2 HR, Single, Double, BB tonight. Anything less will be a huge letdown.

I was thinkin 4-4 with the Cycle and the hr being a GS, 3b being 3rbi, 2b being 3rbi, single being 2rbi....about 13 rbis..anything less is a let down:rolleyes:

Bench DeRo for a day or two and let Fonty's hot bat stay in the lineup. It is the best option.

Let us hope Soriano clicks sometime soon. We need it. WE NEED YOU SORIANO BRING THE SEXY BACK PLZ. <3

I'd give Aramis the day off. Aside from his recent slump, he's been terrible against lefties this year. Start Dero at 3rd and Fontenot at 2nd. Play the hot hand Lou. Lord knows we need it.

Soriano
Fukudome
Lee
Ramirez
Edmonds
Soto
DeRosa
Theriot
Pitcher

Is that what it is going to look like? I like it. And it has a lot of flexibility. You can move Theriot to 2 and Dome down to 5. You can put Edmonds/DeRosa/Soto in any order, really. DeRosa could hit 2. The only spots locked down are Soriano, Lee, and Rammy.

The Cubs face a lefty (Davis) tonight. I doubt they start Fonty against a lefty. However, he may get the call late in the game as part of a double-switch to face a righty.

Its also not likely we'll see fook in the 2 hole against a lefty

If this is the case, I bet Theriot is the only Cub to get a hit tonight. Aramis may draw a walk :)

I hope Cedeno is the one sent down. He doesn't hit left-handed pitching, and I'd rather see Hoff, Ward, or Fonty (out of the bench guys) at the plate vs a righty rather than Cedeno. Theriot has had a very good year and doesn't need much time off, and when he does, I think DeRo or Fonty could play SS every once in a while.

He's out of options. He can't be sent down like normal. He would have to clear waivers (which he wouldn't) and then we would lose him.

I have a bad feeling about fonzi, hand injuries really screw up a swing

I think wrist injuries are more worrisome.

Im excited to see Soriano back at the top of our lineup, even if he doesnt hit right away just being back with the team will give our offense a boost... plus a lineup with a .325 hitter hitting 8th (Riot) will give Sori more rbi opps at the top.. we'll be lookin at:
1. Sori
2.Fuku
3. Lee
4. Rami
5. Edmonds
6. Soto
7. DeRo
8. Riot
Very Nice!
