View Full Version : soria's curveball from hell

are you kidding me? soria's 9th inning against the white sox was absolutely filthy!!! 2 more strikeouts, 1 was a ball that dropped 3 feet from just 10 feet in front of the plate! the batter was swinging at a belt-high change-up(he thought), and the curveball was on the ground, 6" behind the plate!!! the second was similar, but the batter did go down after it...but came up empty!

royals first series victory in chicago since 2003! soria now has 26 saves.:clap::clap:

:k: :k:

Hey Rhensley!

I love your activity in here but to make things a little less cluttered, you want to make your own thread like the "official rhensley's updates" thread and you can put all this in there?

Thanks a lot

It's the same amount of posts, just looks less sloppy

dude...how are you gonna build a forum with NO new topics to discuss? i see some forums with thread topics that are over a year old! if a visitor comes on and sees new topics (fresh) they might just want to hang around long enough to check it out. otherwise, they stop by and see nothing new in a couple of weeks time...they'll just stop coming. do you really want to see a thread at the bottom of the page about tony muser?

rhensley3
07-23-2008, 09:12 PM
btw, i currently have 4 active threads on this forum. is that too many?

MastaPeacock
07-23-2008, 10:10 PM
Hahahahahaaa Tony Musser. I'm taking a middle ground on this one. Four threads is too many but is there actually a point to this thread? He has a nifty curveball. No arguement there.

Yeah we are slowly getting some activity in here...

Liney stops by, a few other random kids, masta, rhensley, and i.

it's a bit more than nifty....i think the word you're looking for is nasty...mexecutioner breaks so many peoples knees and backs with that thing, it should be called a deadly weapon.

save number 28 today against the rays. nothing nasty today because buck wasnt catching. i'm not sure olivo can catch that curveball. lol

I always check on the updates, deep down inside I have a spot for the Royals. I came and watched a game at Kaufman and it has been my favorite Stadium I have ever been too. I also like what Joey Gathright can offer, he could be special, he is just missing something and once he finds it could very well put numbers up like Granderson

gathright went on the 15 day dl a few days ago.

royals sweep a 3 game series on the road against oakland today...soria pitches the bottom of the 10th and notches his 30th save, the first royal to get 30 in one season since montgomery did it many years ago.(in other words, idk what year it was)

PhillyLuver

Also known as WAYYY too long ago.

Nice update, thanks

you like the way i restrained myself from starting a new thread for something so trivial as a road sweep against the a's?

PhillyLuver
07-31-2008, 12:17 PM
Yup.

Go to any other forum and they don't make small threads like this.

If you made game threads that'd be really cool

Soria's amazing.

rhensley3
08-01-2008, 07:53 PM
heh, heh, heh....philly, you should go to the lakers forum sometime. there are over 200 people on there at times...15-20 pages of threads. the topics sort of refresh themselves every other day...i'm serious. there is always something new to discuss there.

MetsFan28

I don't like the Lakers. Kobe's the only one I like.

rhensley3

the curveball claims another victim...31 saves for soria!! i cant wait to see griffey face that pitch!

MetsFan28
08-03-2008, 12:30 PM
I love Soria. He's gonna get 600 saes in his career...I wish.

rhensley3
08-03-2008, 12:34 PM
well, one thing is for sure...we wont be trading him to the mets! hahahahaha!

MetsFan28
08-03-2008, 12:40 PM
Well we don't need the best to replace Wagner. Anyone will do.

rhensley3
08-03-2008, 12:42 PM
you dont set your goals too high for a position that important.

MetsFan28
08-03-2008, 12:44 PM
I don't know why Wagner can't once get out of an inning 1-2-3. He makes us sweat all the time and is now blowing everything.

rhensley3
08-03-2008, 01:00 PM
probably should give him a break and try someone else for a week. soria has won games for us 31 times out of 33 games when we had late game leads. thats big.

MetsFan28
08-03-2008, 04:34 PM
Idk. Mets managers usually keep playing the guy until he does good. I never understood that.

rhensley3
08-04-2008, 05:45 PM
soria got the day off sunday, due to the trashing the royals gave the white sox.

MetsFan28
08-04-2008, 09:15 PM
Listen to this. I had Soria in my fantasy league. I drafted him last pick. I dropped him before the season started. Which led me to trading away Halladay for Wagner, and Danks for Saito. My other closers I drafted, Cordero and Izzy, are both hurt and not on my roster. Right now I have Hoffman, who was a free agent.

rhensley3
08-05-2008, 08:39 PM
gee...sucks to be you. (hahahaha) soria got no. 32 last night! i couldnt believe he didnt throw the curveball to coco crisp! i guess it was because crisp couldnt catch up to the fastball all night, so he threw him fastballs.

MetsFan28
08-06-2008, 04:14 PM
I thought Coco was fast, lol.

rhensley3
08-06-2008, 08:41 PM
meche struck him out twice on fastballs, so soria couldnt resist the heat...i guess.

MetsFan28
08-06-2008, 11:01 PM
Do you think Meche was a waste of money?

rhensley3
08-10-2008, 12:04 PM
no he wasnt. he's actually been very good lately. he's pitching today against the twins, btw. were gonna win this one.

rhensley3
08-10-2008, 12:06 PM
soria has moved into second place in saves(A.L.) with 32...ahead of papelbon(31) and behind rodriguez (45).

MetsFan28
08-14-2008, 11:57 AM
Now imagine the Royals would win as much as the Angels. Soria would have just as many saves as K-Rod.

rhensley3
08-16-2008, 01:51 PM
the angels are the best team in baseball, right now. maybe soria would have more than k-rod.

MetsFan28
08-17-2008, 12:45 AM
That's what I just said...

rhensley3
09-06-2008, 02:55 PM
soria is up to 36!!! GO ROYALS!!!

rhensley3
09-15-2008, 09:04 PM
...picked up number 37 over the weekend! now he's in 3rd in the a.l. just 1 save behind papelbon of boston.

rhensley3
09-18-2008, 09:14 PM
wow!!! add 2 more ...no's 38 and 39 courtesy the seattle mariners! back past papelbon and into 2nd in the league!!

PhillyLuver
09-20-2008, 09:55 AM
Something tells me he won't catch Krod :p.

But man, what an amazing pitcher

rhensley3
09-21-2008, 01:02 PM
yesterday, he upped it to 41 against the white sox! right now, we are 70-85...only 15.5 games out of first and only 2 games behind detroit for 4th! we have 1 last game with chicago today (duckworth), and begin a series WITH detroit.....thats big!

rhensley3
09-27-2008, 11:18 AM
wow...we havent lost since that last post^^^, soria is still at 41...tied with papelbon. we have only 2 games left....will he get another one? i'd really like to see him save a victory for meche today vs. the twins. that would make it difficult for detroit to pass us.

rhensley3
09-28-2008, 11:14 AM
number 42 came saturday against the twins!!! papelbon is at 41 and holding. he had kind of a rough outing...gave up a couple of walks, but got the dp ball, then a flyout for the gamer. he didnt go to the curve at all....probably saving it for sunday.

rhensley3
10-01-2008, 08:15 AM
soria finished the 2008 season with 42 saves...2nd in the american league, behind only k-rod of the angels! he'll have more save opportunities in 2009!
