Wow Love has been beastly and it's surprising to have Robin selected before Brook.

^^^ Robin is just as good as Brook offensively and better defensively.

Oh yeah really? So your saying he's the better player, why didn't he get picked before Brook?

Becuase he didn't get the exposure Brook did. Robin is showing he's very effective on the offensive end.

Don't get upset with me because I offered up an opinion that differs from your own.

brook is better on O, but Robin is better on D, and thats what team USA needs

I don't think that Brook is that much better than Robin on the offensive end. If anything the gap is very small.

Brook is NBA ready and could probably score in the NBA as soon as the season starts.
Robin isnt quite there yet, but I agree with you that the gap isnt too big.
there is a gap though

^^^ Robin already has NBA ready defense something Brook doesn't have so I guess you'd consider it a wash between the two.

While Robin's offense isn't quite there yet neither is Brook's defense.

the players were only selected from the Las Vegas Summer League..something that robin was in and not brook..that is the reason for the selection

Brook Lopez>Robin Lopez

Summer league is ****. Its just players trying to prove themselves to get contracts or rookies who ahve just been drafted. Robin has put up good numbers but he will not come close to scoring that in the NBA.

^^^ Here's my prediction for RoLo, 8 pts and 7 reb on limited minutes. I'm talked 15-18 minutes a game.

Team USA's Prep Opponents Announced

Bayless added to USA Basketball Select Team roster
07/20 02:50:04 ET

Colorado Springs, CO (Sports Network) - USA Basketball announced on Sunday that Portland Trailblazers guard Jerryd Bayless has been named the 13th player of its Men's Select Team.

The initial 10 players were announced on Wednesday with the promise of adding at least two of the more impressive players from the 2008 NBA Summer League.

A pair of fellow 2008 draft picks, forwards Kevin Love and Robin Lopez, were added to the team on Saturday, while Bayless and his Summer League-leading 29.8 point-per-game average waited an extra day to be officially named to the team. Bayless, the 11th overall pick in the draft earlier this summer, also averaged 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in Summer League action.

The team was selected to help prepare the 2008 USA Senior National Team for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, slated to take place August 10-24.

The rest of the team includes: Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City); LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland Trail Blazers); Jeff Green (Oklahoma City); Luther Head (Houston Rockets); Al Horford (Atlanta Hawks); Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers); Kevin Martin (Sacramento Kings); O.J. Mayo (Memphis Grizzlies); Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls) and Rodney Stuckey (Detroit Pistons).

"We brought into the senior team's training camp last summer a select team of young NBA superstars and it proved to be valuable preparation for our Senior Team," said USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team managing Director Jerry Colangelo. "Again in 2008 the Select Team features some of the league's most promising young and upcoming players."

Oklahoma City head coach P.J. Carlesimo will coach the Select Team, which will begin training July 20 in Las Vegas and is expected to train and scrimmage against the USA Senior National Team from July 21-24.

They only picked players from Las Vegas Summer league.....That's how they made their picks.....It's not about Robin being better.....

Oh yeah really? So your saying he's the better player, why didn't he get picked before Brook?

Chris Wilcox was selected ahead of Amare Stoudemire. Are you saying Wilcox is a better player? By your rational, he is.

By selecting these players they arn't making the statement that they are better than the rest. They needed players of all different skill sets to practice with the USA team, and they wanted to promote the young class of players in the league.

Robin deserves a spot as much as anyone, he and KLove have more heart, work ethic and determination to get better than anyone in the draft.
