"Keyon Dooling is close to becoming a Net.

League sources said the Nets and Magic are close to agreeing on a sign-and-trade for the point guard Lawrence Frank pursued three years ago.

Dooling would sign a three-year deal for between $10 million and $11 million and then be sent to the Nets for their $3.3 million trade exception acquired from Dallas in the Jason Kidd trade."

3.3 mill exception, good job Otis, at least we get something for Dooling, does this mean Crittenton is on his way here? Those that don't know what an exception is, it is where we can make a trade and take 3.3mill more than what we are giving, hope it makes sense.

Hopefully he's just being mum since the deal isn't official. The original article said that it might not be finalized until next week...

If this is true, that's great. Gives us a little money to play around with. Definitely gotta hope this is true.

Hopefully Otis actually uses it so it doesn't go to waste. Its pretty much offical now it was on the NBA website. Otis just has to do the paperwork.

New Jersey Nets agree to sign-and-trade for Keyon Dooling

Looks like a done deal. We just have to wait till Monday for both teams to run the trade past the league and for dooling to pass his physical.

I wish we had made a bigger trade and got Marcus Williams since they don't need him anymore.

HELL YEAH! Why can't they? Dude, I think Marcus Williams will be a solid pg some day... Especially if you give him mins to improve... We need a PG... That's the solution to that... What can we add to maybe get that guy?

^I'm pretty sure they know he was potential, but with the Kidd trade and the Nets getting Harris, it shut down most opportunities for Williams. I don't think Otis is looking for a guy like him IMO, because he hasn't mentioned anything about him and i don't know if he plays "good" D.

Getting Marcus would be near impossible IMO, even though i would want it to...think about it...Nelson and Williams controlling the team.

Its official now, Dooling is gone to the Nets. It said that we got "cash consideration" nothing about the trade exception. Links are the NJ website, NBA website and probably ESPN.

Marcus isn't a good defender, great Pg if given minutes but you need a Pg who has size and has at least decent perimeter defense.

I just read Hoopsworld and it said we got cash considerations and the trade exception and we won't be getting any of their players.
