Cavs rally comes up short in Summer League play
LAS VEGAS Despite a 15-0 run to open the fourth quarter, the Cavs were beaten, 73-72, by the Rockets in NBA Summer League play late Wednesday night. The Cavs (0-2) entered the fourth quarter trailing, 62-51.

Rookie forward J.J. Hickson had 18 points and six rebounds. He hit 7-of-15 shots from the floor and was 4-of-8 at the foul line.

Free agent guard Clay Tucker added 10 points on 4-for-12 shooting.

The Cavs' other rookie forward, Darnell Jackson, put up 7 points and five rebounds in 24 minutes.

Other notable Cavs with area ties:

Romeo Travis, a former Akron star, scored 3 points in 12 minutes, hitting a 3-pointer. He also grabbed two rebounds.

Jawad Williams, a former all-state forward at Lakewood St. Edward, scored 9 points on 4-of-6 shooting, hitting his only 3-pointer.

Dru Joyce, who also starred at Akron, did not play.

For the Rockets, Donté Greene and Maarty Leunen each scored 17, while Aaron Brooks added 16 points. Joey Dorsey grabbed 14 rebounds.

The Cavs return to action tonight at 8 against the Wizards. NBA TV will televise the game.

Good to see J.J. Hickson doing well so far. He had 18 points and six rebounds. Our other rockies are doing well too. The effort is there but its just not getting the results when our guys are stepping up.
