This is what Gilbert Arenas had to say in a recent blog on NBA.com about Richard Jefferson being traded to the Bucks:

Said Arenas, "HAHAHA! Oh man, now that is funny. When I heard that, I started laughing. Oh man, did I start laughing. You know why? Because every player hates Milwaukee. Nobody wants to live in Milwaukee. Iím sorry, Milwaukee, to come down hard on you, but no one in the NBA wants to play in Milwaukee."

What??? I find what Arenas said hard to be true. How can he single out Milwaukee as the one city that no NBA player wants to live. I remember in a recent thread howpeople were arguing who has the biggest ego in the NBA, and how Arenas was right at the top, well now I think he's got to be at the top. Way to go Gilbert! Just keep your mouth shut.

I can't wait to see RJ's response when Arenas' knees get screwed up again. Karma is a *****.

Gil turned about-face on El Calderon - he may turn about-face here. But I doubt it...

Sessions and R-Jeff will be a fun tandem to watch though.

I don't really care or have an opinion on Gilbert as a person but I will say that there is some truth to what he is saying. Seriously, who wants to play for MIL. Still, he probably should have kept his mouth shut.

give us a link, cause i can say smth too like: RJ said, "Arenas is right" :D

well of course for many players Bucks would have been as one of the last teams to go to, but Arenas could say that a bit different :)

Andrew Bogut just signed long-term to stay in Miwaukee because he wants to stay there. I think what Gilbert meant to say is "nobody that is important enough to me for me to mention in my blog wants to stay in Milwaukee."

He is so bloody arrogant.

I hope Milwaukee takes the 8th seed one game ahead of Washington.

How did I know someone would bring up Minnesota. I agree though and its sad. Although Minneapolis is a very large city, Milwaukee doesn't compare in the least. Milwaukee is even smaller than St. Paul (downtown size). But if I were an NBA player I would shut the h*ll up about where im playing because I'm making soo much frickin money. Arenas was probably speaking his mind but he doesn't have to come down on the city that hard.

The Bucks were pretty good in late 90's and early 2000's when they still had Allen, Cassell (when he was pretty good), Glenn Robinson, and Tim Thomas. They were in the playoffs most years and were one game away from the NBA finals in I believe 2001 when they lost to AI and the Sixers in game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals.

What would be more hilarious is if Gilbert actually lost to the Bucks. No wait... If the Bucks finish higher than the Wizards next season.

what he said had nothing to do with overrating himself?
He just spoke his mind, why is it that all you guys hate players that speak their mind, so what if he talks trash about a city, its how he feels it doesnt make him a bad person, it'd jsut what he thinks about the city in particular.

Who cares what Gilbert thinks? Just because someone is given a blog doesn't mean we have to listen to their opinion or pretend it matters at all.

tommer1961
07-19-2008, 12:45 AM
Gilbert has no room to talk, simply because he is still slightly hurt and he still isnt anything more than a non passing shoot first PG, and really is more of a BG7 type player.

Hate to say it because I hate the guy...but I have to agree. I can't think of a less desirable NBA city to live in other than Milwaukee.

milwaukee.....from the choices of citys you could play for, i think it would have to be in my bottom 5. expecially since jefferson is coming from a city like new jersey, milwaukee must blow.

Unfortunately its the truth, and I can relate because I'm a Sac fan and its kind of the same situation. But still, there are certain things you don't say. Its disrespectful to the entire Bucks fanbase and city for that matter. I had no problem with 0 until now. To far.

RJ is one of Gilbert's best friends, Arizona Alumni/teammates,and who would want to play in Milwaukee? Wisconsin is Packer faithful only! I'm surprised Michael Redd is still there. Gilbert feels bad for his buddy and why shouldn't he all the Bucks do are trade away prospects

Gil was one of the guys I liked back in the day. I even got a jersey of his this one time. Needless to say I haven't worn that thing in over two years. With his shenanigans I might be too embarassed to show it to anyone. C0cky doesn't even scratch the surface of what Gilbert is...

at least he's entertaining to listen to.

I hate how NBA players feel like they have to hide their opinions or something. I know they need to worry only about basketball, but I want to hear more stuff like this.

I could name a lot of signings between the brewers, bucks, and packers that make him look like more of a ****** for saying this. Also, **** everybody from Chicago who comes up north into Wisconsin every weekend and then ends up talking ****.
