I met Joe DiMaggio when I was 10 (maybe a little younger).

his great-grandaughter lived in the same city as me and played in the same softball league. We both made the all-star team and Joe DiMaggio shows up to watch her play/. he signed my moms scorekeeping book. Of course, I was a sheepish little kid so I barely squeaked out a hello, but it was still cool.

Make sure you get it certified if you are going to sell it. Value of it probably doubles if it is certified, I bet you could get roughly $1,500 for it, maybe a bit more. That is definately one of the sickiest autographed photos I have ever seen.

Im one of the psycos you were talking about, if I had millions of dollars, I would give 6 figures for that. Two of my favorites of all time are in that pic, id actually murder your worst enemy for it, plus give you 6 figures, sounds like a killer deal for you.

honestly, Id keep it no matter the money. Especially if someone like your dad gave it to you, it's something that will be worth alot more then 1500 dollars toy you in the future. You may not see that now, but I would bet in 304- years you would regret selling it

Sheepish lil CG...

My great uncle (grandpa's brother) used to be a ML pitcher and pitched against Joltin' Joe in the minors a lot. He gave me the box score card of this one game where he struck him out 3 times in 3 at bats

All I've got is are balls signed by Pete Rose, Catfish Hunter, and a Carlos Bearga WS ball (no clue why I have that though lol)...also have a ground rule double ball that Babe Ruth hit that my great grandfather caught at a game, and a few other stuff..such as a puck used by the Devils in practice, signed by Ken Daneyko :)

I also plan on getting a few other stuff soon - Bobby Murcer autographed ball, Whitey Ford ball, Yogi Berra ball, and someone else when I can find a good deal :P

So THS_Yankee3 ... 1 question. Where do you live and what time do your parents go to bed? ... not that I plan on breaking into your house or anything and stealing your autographs.

Truth, also with the creation of eBay the number of forgers has gone up exponentially thus the value of autographs especially uncertified ones has quickly plummeted. Not to mention its not that hard to create a COA, it would have to be from some highly acclaimed source to be considered legit which actually costs a decent sum of money itself. It's not really fair to legitimate autograph collectors but its like the disruptive kid in class, a few bad seeds can ruin it for everybody. There may have been a time where a photo like that may have netted some serious cash, nowadays we are probably talking $1,000-$1,500 (and I'm probably being a bit generous with that number, I actually found the same item for less elsewhere around $750, but uncertified)

Again, I do suggest selling autos if they hold even the remotest value to you. You probably aren't going to get what they are worth and you are selling something that could mean more than a photo and ink to you. I would personally only sell any of my autos if I was in a bad place with money.
