Columnist Carl Steward writes: "The buzz in Detroit is that the Warriors and Pistons have been talking about a deal involving point guard Chauncey Billups. The Pistons want Andris Biedrins, the Warriors are offering up Al Harrington. Harrington by all means. But Biedrins? No way.

"Hard to see Billups in a running style, though, and he will be 32 in September. That said, he would be much preferable to (Monta) Ellis at the point, and a significant recoup, at least temporarily, for the loss of (Baron) Davis.

Biedrins and Ellis are restricted free agents, and the Warriors had hoped to re-sign them. But the Warriors have appeared reluctant to include Biedrins in a sign-and-trade.

NO WAY IN HELL! do not give up AB. he is 22 and has gotten better every year. i really like billups but why sacrifice part of our young core for a guys who would be with us for two years tops. i would rather rebuild. i am not saying AB is the greatest center in the league or anything but we have a pretty good young core over here and he is a big part of it.

I think the Pistons are starting to relize that there to old and they need to get younger in the East, like the other teams.

least we have a future, mavs have a no heart player in dirk, the dumbest owner in the league, a beat up old man running the point in kidd, a 4 million dollar second string center in diop who averages 3 pts a game.
yea i would say warriors future is bright, dallas not so much....
ooooo i forgot you still must be bitter over the warriors raping the mavs as an 8 seed......pretty pathetic performance the choke artists known as the dallas mavs

if AB goes anywhere its to miami for marion. marion would fit they're system 100000000 times better than billups.

plus we kinda want a good C :smoking:

I wouldn't trade Biedrins and Billups won't really fit in their system. I wouldn't accept if I were Warriors.

if im the warriors i make the trade. first off, they made a stupid move signing maggette to that much money. as it stands with him now they are not a playoff team, but that investment suggests they want to be. with the currently situation in the west i see the 8th spot up for grabs (lakers, hornets, jazz, spurs, suns, blazers, and rockets ahead). billups still has enough in the tank to get the warriors into the playoffs next year, and maybe a few more depending on how fast the spurs / suns fall and the sonics climb. is it a great move, no. do they ever have a shot at being elite, no. but it might be the best option after screwing themselves by paying maggette that much.
