I think Amare, because of his age and explosiveness. he's the best scoring bigman, though his defense is less-than-average.

I'd take Amare.

no love for Jermaine O'Neal?

i love amare's athleticism, but he often tends to be clueless in crunch-time - picking up bad fouls, trying to force shots, etc.

dirk puts up mvp stats in the regular season, but can't seem to get it done in the play-offs. he's the only one here with consistent 3-pt range.

can't wait to see a healthy o'neal (hopefully) in T.O. this year - by the way he's talking, he's determined to get back to his top form and compete for a championship. i think he's the best/ smartest defensive player of the four.

pau is a great fit in the triangle offense - great passer, good hands, high bball IQ. playing with bynum will be fun to watch.

if i had to choose between these guys in their prime, i'd probably go with JO due to the fact that i think he has the best all-around game - defense, post-up game, shot blocking, 18-footers...
at this point in their careers, i think amare has the most upside.

I dunno Im hesitant to say Amare cuz it just seems like Nash always sets up a lot of his points for him, I could be wrong though.

It has been four years since Jermaine O'Neal put up numbers that would warrant being on this list. Even in 03-04 (the last time he was healthy) his numbers will still worse than Amare's and Dirk's from this season. If you want some love for Toronto, put the other PF/C from the Raps in the poll... Chris Bosh.

I would love for Jermaine O'Neal to prove me wrong, but I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you think a player who was dominant at age 26 and has been injury plagued for the last four years, will be the same player at 30 even if he is healthy.

hahha some people just dont get it..He is coming back from a torn meniscus. Not a torn ACL or MCL. I have had the exact surgery he did, I had a severe torn meniscus because i cointinued to play varsity ball in university on it. It began with a slight tear and only got worse after a year of playing on it. It only got worse the more you play on it as it puts extreme presure on your knee everytime you exstend to jump off the floor or cut different directions...This same thing happened to JO. This injury is one that can be recoverd from quite easily with simple Arthroscopic surgery on his knee which he had done. Hell it has been known to improve the quality of your knee and your ability to do more on the knee than you ever could.. This surgery makes for a speedy recovery and one that does not limit your comback attempt in the way in which Amare or Brand dealt with. I gurantee he comes back better than ever. Its not like he broke his legs or something and is trying to make an impossible recovery. Its simple knee surgery. 30-45 mins and you are out of surgery.. JO will really prove all you wrong next season.

JO shouldn't even be included in this list--he is always injured/coming back from an injury. IN the past five seasons he's missed 136 games!!! That's 1/3 of the games!
